Rockets and arguably Hornets had the best draft of any team with multiple picks. Rockets and Hornets both traded to get a big guy with lots of upside in Sengun at 16 and Kai Jones at 19 and for both a great player was available with one of their picks in Garuba and Bouknight at 11. Then add Thor for the Hornets in the 2nd round and ow yeah, we got Green and his buddy. 2 guards and 2 bigs, Hornets drafted BPA as well as addressed needs and so did we. Who says nay?!
Because they are usually a terrible drafting team and it’s clear to me that they nailed their picks just like we did, at least 3/4
We are going to be SO young, will we have playing time for all these kids? Going to lose a lot I fear. Maybe we can sign CP3 to lead them? DD
Clutch "So we didn't get Mobley" Bima "No, no we didn't" Clutch "Well I was happy to see Sengun get picked before our picks" Bima "and then we traded 2 first for him" Clutch "Yep" Bima "But we got Garuba" Clutch "That was great, loved it" Bima "and then Springers available!" Clutch "and we pass on him" Bima "yeah" Clutch "As always good to have you on" DUNNA NAHNAHNAH DUNNA NAHNAHNAH *OOOHHH FROM THE PARKING LOT* etc
So excited for Jalen Green, but according to Stone's post draft interview, he is REALLY high on Sengun and didn't expect to be able to trade up to get him. He looks like Sabonis to me. Skilled offensively. I initially wanted Kai Jones, but Sengun seems really promising. He isn't being stashed either, so I expect him to make an immediate impact. Garuba reminds me of a more athletic Draymond? Super excited. Stone called him the best defender outside of the NBA. I imagined pick 24 would be the pick based on upside, and sure enough it was. So many options available, but Christopher has a lot of potential. Not to mention his friendship with Green. Wow, what a night. Stone knows what he's doing. Shoutout to the scouting department as well. Exciting times ahead!
If we had traded down from 24 and picked up 2 SRP I would have been high as a kite. McBride and Thor were there for the taking. Hornets didn't just steal Thor, but they also stole Scottie Lewis. Hornets are going to have a very smothering, long and athletic rotation. Both Thor and Lewis will be better than Duarte IMO. Better defenders for sure. Mavs signed EJ Onu too. Vrenz Bleijenbergh is still out there however but Rockets never even worked him out. Porter, Green and Patty never friended him.
Sengun never worked out for the Rockets either, but they were in contact with his agent. Vrenz tweeted implying he's sad he didn't get drafted. Stone didn't rule out signing any undrafted free agents. I'd honestly keep an eye on Jalen Tate as UFA strictly because of Jae'Sean lol. Bring me the youth movement. I really do not want Wall or EG (even House) taking away minutes
