I remember the Astros being in the NL West, but that was almost 30 years ago and there were only two divisions.
Fixed it for you. Anyway, for all the talk about the stacked rotation, they're still (most likely) going to have to play in the Wild Card game, and only one pitcher can pitch at a time. Assuming the NLWC is indeed LA/SD, pure coin flip IMO, regardless of where it's played.
Tomorrow gonna be pretty insane. Kimbrel, Bryant, Baez, and Story are stars almost certain to be dealt. Berrios and Buxton will be shopped. Tons of secondary pieces still out there (Gibson, Gray, Pineda, Hudson, Rodriguez, etc.). Lots still to be decided.
If we get KB, then Bryant to RF; Tucker to CF should be the configuration. I'd prefer Tuck's athleticism in center. Not saying Bryant isn't athletic or capable, I just think Kyle would be a better centerfielder. Astros get: Kris Bryant Craig Kimbrel Cubs get: RHP Bryan Abreu SS Jeremy Pena OF Chas McCormick PTBNL Kimbrel closing, Pressly and KG as set-up, Yimi, Baez, Taylor, and Stanek also available. Best pen ever? Do it Click. This ain't a scene it's a ****dmm arms race. Gotta fight fire with fire.
Bryant would not shock me at all. A position player to give them one of the deepest lineups of all time, a starting pitcher, Im sure it’s all on the table. Click has shown he has the stones to stick to his plan, so he won’t have his hand forced. Of course I know nothing.
What was the padres offer? I was curious when the news first broke that they had a deal done but never saw specifics
I'm looking for the tweet but it was like 2 of their top ten prospects. It's been a mother trying to keep up with the NBA draft and the trading deadline.
You know who might be an even better get than Mad Max at a much lower price? Charlie Morton. Check out his stats over June and July. 59 IP, 3.20 ERA, 68 K, 21 BB, 39 H, 10.37 K/9, 1.02 WHIP Max Scherzer over same time period. 35.2 IP, 3.78 ERA, 47 K, 11 BB, 25 H, 11.86 K/9, 1.01 WHIP Plus you know what else Charlie has over Max? A history of winning with this team, friends in the clubhouse, and a comfortability in this organization. Make it happen Click.
Sad if true. They haven’t made a single move yet, so I’m still hopeful. Acuna is out for the year. They really have no business not selling this year. They have even worse odds than the Yankees of making the playoffs, who are the other most delusional team this year. Braves will be out of this race in about 2 weeks and then they’ll be saying we should’ve traded some of our aging/contract expiring players for prospects. I still have hope they wise up and deal Uncle Charlie tomorrow.
