With all the talk about the rivalry between Kobe and Shaq over whose team the Lakers are, do you think there's any chance Kobe would want to play with Yao? If a Kobe/Yao team could beat a Shaq's team, would that prove once and for all who was the man on the Lakers?

I'm sure Kobe would demand lots of changes on our roster (and I'm not saying I necessarily want this to happen) - I'm just wondering whether anyone thinks this might actually be a factor in Kobe's decision of where to play next year.

Money will be a factor. TMac will want some major love and the team that 'wins' him can look for years of no cap relief.

For Kobe "Bare" Bryant to be a member of the Rockets would require a major shift in the fan base as well.

Iwonder what the marketing dollar potential for Kobe would be if he joined the Rockets and became the second favorite basketbal player in China. Playing for the Rockets might put Kobe back in the big leagues in advertising.

No way. Kobe is one of those guys looking to be THE souperstar on a team. The Rocks already have 2.

Besides, the way he jacks up shots, JVG would have him on the end of the bench...

I assume Steve would have to be gone for this to work. plus, unlike Shaq, Yao would defer to Kobe.

Like I said, I'm not saying I want this to happen, but I do think it's an interesting idea.

If the Rockets can come up with a deal with the Magic for Mcgrady, getting Kobe wouldn’t be all that difficult. Just send Mcgrady to the Lakers for Kobe.

The Lakers are not going to get a better replacement for Kobe then Mcgrady.

Orlando would probably want Kobe, but Kobe would never agree to play with Orlando. So Francis+ is not that bad a consolation prize for them.

And as much as I would love the Rockets to have Mcgrady, Kobe would be an even better acquisition. Kobe doesn’t have any back problems, has a ton of playoff experience, and knows how to play with a dominant big man. Of course, it might be a good idea to wait until his trial ends before pulling the trigger on a trade.

I see Koby staying in LA, being with the Lakers or the Clippers

Can't wait for the first person to come out and say "we don't want Kobe".

3 rings, 25 years old, and may win another ring before he turns 26.

My goodness. Don't even try to tell me Shaq is pushing them this time.

I have nothing bad to say about Kobe's game. Sure he jacks up shots, but he BURRYS shots others would be benched for even attempting.

The only thing I have to say against him regards off-court concerns.

He's a FIERCE competitor and he knows how to win. I HATE him as a Laker. Would LOVE him as a Rocket.

Kobe is a better choice than TMac. But either is true upgrade.

I'm sure Houston is at the top of Kobe's list after the "No means no" and "Guilty" fan taunts during the playoffs.

I don't want kobe. If he teams up with Yao, I will give up my YOF status. Yes, I hate Kobe that much and I dont actually like Yao that much.

I'd rather have McGrady. Statistically McGrady has done everything Kobe has done, just doesn't have the rings (at least part of that is having steven hunter at the 5 instead of Shaq). I think he'll be easier for us to market, because Kobe will always be the rapest in the mind of the public. I'll take the guy who is just as good without the character issues.

T-Mac is not as clutch as Kobe. He's not even half the defender.

T-Mac's probably a better passer though.

Kobe has championship experince, and T-Mac doesn't. Yes, that counts.
