We trade up to get the #4 slot only to be able to draft 3 Jalen's ;)

    2) Jalen Green
    4) Jalan Suggs
    24) Jalen Johnson

    2. Green
    13. Sengun
    24. Grimes

    Green/KPJ/Tate/Wood/Sengun - Grimes/Martin/????

    That's a tantalizing core.

Deep in the draft its never the guy that the fans have been talking about/wanting.

    So, I'm going with:

    #2 - Green

    #23 - Jason Preston

#24 - Vrenz Bleijenbergh, (who they'll stash overseas for a couple of years).

I just don't see us keeping those two late picks as moves seem imminent. I'm going with both picks moved for 13 to take Jalen Johnson. In the deal we get an end of the first/top of the second choice where we take Quentin Grimes

    2. Mobley
    13. Johnson
    28-32. Grimes

I hope we draft a starter who will still be playing in 5 years

I think Garuba immediately becomes our best defender. Played crazy minutes and # of games at the highest level in Europe for Real Madrid. His offense will get there, but we’d have to move up to get him, IMO. Hope for Cade, but thrilled to get Green or Mobley. #24 part of a deal to move up.

Draft and stash is a great options for the Rockets, as it delays the clock on the rookie contract. Imagine if Capela had been stashed just one year like Rockets planned. THey could have really stacked their team in his final rookie contract year.

I prefer to trade the picks in 20's or get a draft and stash. Need to delay our assets. If we pick up any additional picks, then we would have at least 4 rookies. That is a bit too many for now, Rockets need to layer their cheap production.

    #2: Jalen Green
#13: Alperen Sengun (Houston trades #23, future 2nd round pick, and, to most of CF's dislike, Jae'Sean Tate to the Pacers)
    #24: Jalen Johnson

This is too confusing. They'd have to change their identities for fans to keep them apart.

#13 might not get Sengun, but I’m all in on the kid if that could happen. #13, if we could get it, gives us some options, for sure. Hate to lose Tate, but I’d do it for Sengun at #13 - if he’s there.

I love Tate--he's the exact type of player an up and coming team needs. Unfortunately we're a year or two away from even sniffing that since we're rebuilding. Plus what are the odds Tilman/Rockets can afford to keep him next summer? His trade value is high right now so if we can get a lottery pick for him and a low 1st rounder, I'm all for it.

Sengun might be a bust but it's not for a lack of talent. Kid's not raw by any means so, at the very least, he'll be a good role player. I have high hopes for him though.

Yes! Players can be busts but you often get those who slip into the second round on overhyped deficiencies. And GM's don't get do-overs. (Jokic, Draymond)

Sengun is "too short for a center, too slow for a power forward," or whatever......except, will he make you look like a fool if you don't draft him?

I don't know. He's getting some love, certainly.
