Bob Bowlsby didn't know either, which shouldn't surprise anyone because he hasn't known much for a long time now.

Didn't read the whole thing so I'm not sure on the particulars, but USA Today did an economic analysis that posited the SEC could end up making more money per year than the NCAA, which is ludicrously awesome.

Only ATM would have a reason to be against it. Every other school will get richer from the deal. ATM would gladly give up the 10 million per year if they could be the only game in the state. It took them 10 years to become relevant in the SEC.

LOL Good luck with that Big XII.... why even bother sending the letter as no court is going to enforce it.

ESPN can reach out to anyone that will talk to them.

    LMFAO

Maybe if nobody talks about it we can pretend it's not happening. So could you please stop talking about it.

This is one of my big fears about joining the Big 12. The leadership seems so inept. I like the AAC brass and Aresco. They've done a lot for us.

This is what I've been wondering all along. It feels like Disney is behind the scene pulling strings.

If I'm Disney, I make some really strong overtures to my desired Big 12 programs that, were they to make the jump to the AAC, that Disney would re-work the AAC media deal to compensate them for their trouble.

You can stick with your current situation and hope for the best during renegotiation in 2023-24, or you can take a fairly decent parachute that I'm offering you right now. You won't be rich, but your programs won't be calamitously ruined, either.

I guess they really have nothing to lose from this but seems like a last ditch effort by Bowlsby. Think he’s gone either way.

ESPN trying to bolster their brand at the expense of the Big 12.

I'd like to see them sue ESPN over it, if they have any grounds for it (would seem like they should). ESPN has no business meddling in conferences affiliations like that.

If it's the ACC that puts the nail in the Big 12's conference, lulz.

If ESPN didn’t meddle then the big 12 would have collapsed 10 years ago. It’s a bit too late to play that card.

Problem is they’d be suing ESPN just to stay alive long enough to negotiate their next deal with…ESPN. Maybe FOX or CBS swoops in to save the day but cant see a suit working out for them.

The Big 12’s only argument is that ESPN who they have a contract with is acting in bad faith by sabotaging said contract to not fulfill its terms.

The Big 12 is in self-preservation but the members should start looking for new homes before it’s too late.

    My misery ranking-

    1) Oklahoma State - brother didn’t take them to the SEC.

    2) Baylor - Invested in athletics but private school.

    Tied 3) Texas Tech/K-State - No man’s land.

    4) TCU - Back to G5.

    5) Iowa State - Big 10?

    6) WV - ACC?

    7) Kansas - Big 10 or ACC?

Remember this isn’t the same fox either as last time. It’s a stripped down version that might not want to commit the same level of capital.
