i moved to 110th and Lexington in February 2001, registered on this board a month later with the Bobby Womack song stuck in my head(there is a blaxploitation film of the same name, but I heard it first in Jackie Brown.

I've moved since, but "acrossyorkavenue" just doesn't have the same ring to it.

When I first got on here I was rockethead - I lost my password and email account and came back as oomp, short for oompahead, which was my email address at the time.

I merge this together because I actually met my wife, at a Rockets game... (We kept giving each other the eye...The Rockets game gave us a chance to break the ice.)

I remember back in 5th grade or so I was looking for something around my room that could give me an idea of what to make my nick for some online game. I saw the name Uprising on a magazine of mine, it was a computer game. I liked the way it sounded, and ever since I have used this nick as almost everyone of my sign on names online.

 

I would love to see his first post. Heck, I'd love to see my first post or anybody's first posts. I bet we'd all have a good laugh.

I agree though, keep the good stories comin'.

 

Whenever I was setting up my first AOL account Weezer's "Buddy Holly" came on the tv..
