Selling him to your fan base. Caserio is not BoB. He is not going to just get rid of Watson. They know their situation. They will wait it out…
This is quite possibly one of the worst takes I've ever read on this site... As bad as some people think these owners are, the color they place above all else is green, not white. They traded away multiple first round picks to get Deshaun because they never thought he would be this good? The Colts had Peyton Manning, then were gifted Andrew Luck... they still found a way to have Jacoby Brisset as their starting QB for multiple seasons.
jacoby brissett first and only year as a starter was 18td's and 6 ints in a new offense, and then the colts when and got philip rivers
Yes, I do. Their fanbase definitely would have. The Colts Defensive Coordinator was in the running for the Texans' job because he has a relationship with Watson.
Cue the outrage articles and hot takes about this decision. I think NFL is making the right move here to wait until after the criminal investigation and their own ongoing investigation is complete before implementing a punishment. If Texans don't find a suitable trade partner Watson should start only to drive up his trade value. If they choose to sit him his trade value will diminish even further.
Jacoby Brissett was the starting quarterback for 2 seasons. The 1st season he threw 13TD's and 7 ints. then Andrew Luck came back, then Andrew Luck had his abrupt retirement, so they brought him back and he had 18TDs, with 6 INTs. He finished that year as the 19th Rated Quarterback behind Hall of Famers Gardner Minshew, Case Keenum, and his eventual replacement Philip Rivers. They were 4 years into Jacoby Brissett, they knew what he was, and they definitely knew he wasn't Deshaun Watson.
what were Carson wentz stats last year. Why is he the presumptive starter over jacoby brisett why is taysom hill being universally pegged as a starter over jameis Winston what makes wentz and Winston different to the point where their talent is seen as different
For starters, you mentioned Indy, but I'll bite. Carson was terrible last year, but he's got MVP level play on his resume, so there's hope they can get that Carson Wentz back. As for Taysom Hill, he's being paid a boatload of cash, and his competition has a 30 int season on his resume, so he'll therefore get the 1st opportunity. But most people expect Jameis to be the starter by the end of the season....(some think it'll be much earlier than that). Sean Payton himself says its a competition.... This isn't about Race. Jacoby Brisset couldn't even stay the starting QB in college (at Florida), so we can't act like this is a huge surprise. He's just not that good.
carson wentz to this point basically a white rg3. Had a decent year of all-pro production then fell of the face of the map winston is underrated, and a top 15 qb since he has been in the league, but is seen as trash not even fit to hold the clipboard behind taysom hill
why is wentz similar to alex smith and sam bradford beofre him given a legit second chance on a new team, but winston who arguably has more talent than any of them not being compensated for his play. Winston is one of 4 men to throw for 5100 yards in a season, and was a bench player the next season. Thats unheard of
