I heard a report that the Catholic church is thinking of putting Ohtani's name forward for sainthood even though he's not been dead for 500 years...or Catholic. But clearly the miracle prerequisite is covered.
He's almost too good to be true, I'm fully expecting him to get busted for doing designer Japanese steroids while molesting sea lions and sending MLB trade secrets back to the NPL or something.
From June 26 to Sunday’s 3-1 victory against the Rangers, a span in which the team has a 14-11 record, the Astros are averaging 3.9 runs per game, 6.6 hits, and 1.0 home run, along with a .211 batting average. Yuli Gurriel is homerless through his last 35 games. His last four-bagger came on June 11 against the Twins. Yordan Álvarez is hitting for a .150 BA (6-for-40) since July 10. Carlos Correa is 2-for-41 since July 6 (.048) with 17 strikeouts. Myles Straw is averaging .167 (5-for-30) over his last 13 games. Martín Maldonado has posted a .095 BA (4-for-32) since July 6 (12 games). https://www.crawfishboxes.com/2021/...y-and-unexpectedly-the-astros-stopped-hitting Anyone concerned?
I will be concerned if they show up in the playoffs swinging like this. They will be done quick. They will break out and when they do I feel sorry for the teams that have to play our lineup. hopefully they break out this week when we face La and SF.
Do the Stros just play BETTER against BETTER competition? I think they may be falling victim to playing down to the recent comp sans the pre break games which I could say just had some of the guys looking forward to the break. I really expect them to bust out vs the "contenders" they face coming up.
well statistically these Mariners were supposed to be playing well lately so my theory may still apply! Holy smokes these guys came out focused tonight!
At least Cole had that great start against us... when we weren't hitting anything regardless of pitcher.
