I didn't watch the interview and just saw tweets about his answers. He was saying all defensive team as a rookie? I thought it was at some point in his career. If it's the former I agree that is very highly unlikely.
I sincerely hope Jalen wears number 14 just to do rockets fans of solid and show what kind of high character kid he is.
Striving to be great is not a fault. But there’s a reason every guard that comes out in the draft every year(many who turned out to be better players than Green will) doesn’t compare themselves to Kobe, because they are not delusional. Unless you think Green is the only one striving to be great.
He needs to work hard at growing 3 inches and widening his shoulder width so that he can gain some weight. Otherwise it’s not going to make much of a difference. He’s not 6’5 or 6’6 if you haven’t noticed. His G league teammates called him “Baby” and put him in the post right away in practice. Why would you call someone 6’6 a baby even if they were skinny? Looking at a bunch of tape and him standing next to other guys that got measured, he is between 6’3-6’4.
@D-rock have you seen this? multiple people have the exact same take I’ve picked up on that Jalen eats, sleeps, and breaths basketball while Mobley has less passion. Bro you’re gonna really love Green. Not just cause how inspiring he is, but how much he will offer THE ROCKETS. Strap in and get ready for the ride homie.
How in the world is Green inspiring? He sounds like your typical 16 year old airhead. Suggs is the one that sounds like a leader of men.
I've done a lot of searching for height comparisons for him and I would be absolutely shocked if he was 6'3. He didn't look significantly shorter if at all standing next to guys like DeRozan and Shaw. My guess is somewhere between 6'4 3/4 and 6'6.
I’m sure the Rockets measured him during their workouts so we will see. If he’s legit 6’6 then my defensive concerns lessen a bit. High level playmaking and “playing the right way” is much harder to develop by this age though.
