I feel familiar with Drock enough to speak for him on this subject. He gives a slightly disgusted look at anyone with less than an 7ft wingspan on an NBA court.
I’m so sick of the small ball. It’s like the Rockets don’t believe in height. Once again they’re going to be a poor rebounding and defensive team.
He's is very young and that's a great asset to him as a prospect I think the reason he's projected to go in the 2nd despite him being 19 and a fluid shooter at 6'10 has to do with some of the things I listed. It's a lot rarer for guys to develop some of the instinctual/innate skills like rebounding, finishing ability/touch, aggression (drawing fouls), lateral quickness on D etc then it is for players to develop a fluid jumper ... Todd has the jumper, he has size, he's just lacking in the other categories that are difficult to improve on. Kumza came to mind, another guy similar but with a better shot would be Marcus Morris. These guys are kind of like Ryan Anderson except WAY more athletic... but still not enough to hang in today's league on D, not enough to get boards like they need to, they are just kind of like big guards without the handle
I don't like any of them. Bones and Christopher seem redundant if we're drafting Green. Cooper can't shoot.
Draft isn't the only way we can shape our roster though This is a thing that keeps coming back, you don't draft to shape your roster when you are the worst team in the league. You draft BPA, hope to land a game-changer, and if that game changer isn't a rebounder, you sign a Joey Dorsey until you fill that spot with a legit player through another draft or FA or trade
Well i dont lol. Between EG, Wall, KPJ and Green we dont need yet another pg who will be 3rd in the rotation and play 5-10 mins and end up disgruntled/stunted. I Jackson has no stretch, he like a Capela clone which would be fine except theres so many guys with stretch available.
Well thing is mentality is both the easiest and hardest thing to fix right? One good thing about 19 yr olds is they too young to develop bad habits. For example Marcus Camby spent 3 yrs in NCAA and developed bad habits regarding defense, he'd always prioritize getting the blocked shot and would often hang back and allow the opponent to take the shot so he could attempt to block it. With Todd given that he is lost AF he might be more amenable to instruction and playing the right away as long as he goes to the right team. I like him, Thor and EJ Onu I think at least one of these 3 pan out.
Depends on who they draft at 23-24. Imagine if they drafted Jones/Thor and Sengun at 23-24. They should be a fine defensive team in a couple of years.
If we draft Green, Eric Gordon has got to be gone to create minutes in the back court Wall preferably too, but it will probably be incredibly difficult to move him in just about any scenario... Gordon on the other hand we could likely work with. Gordon for Dwight Powell + fillers Gordon for Steven Adams Gordon for Kuzma + fillers Gordon for Saric + fillers Are the type of deals where we could actually realistically move him, fill a need and not give up assets
I really find this hard to believe because from what I've read recently he hasn't worked out for Any team.
