Why take out Javier, who has pitched great, for Pressly, who threw around 30 pitches yesterday. Who is your closer tomorrow Dusty?
Just told my buddy that Leave Javier in and Pressly is available tomorrow, now we have neither Dusty is a good dude, but there is a reason he has never won it all even though he has had a ton of talented rosters
Yep. It’s even more perturbing that Javier’s stuff was gaining (not losing) steam… could have always put in Pressly if he allowed a base runner. Ah well, on to Seattle… we know Dusty is amped for this road trip. His two former teams (as player/manager), the two best NL teams, he loves him some NL baseball… phew. Going to need more toothpicks!
Need a big outing from Luis Garcia tomorrow... I don't love going into games with no Pressly or Javier. I want to keep our guys sharp, but Pressly ran out of steam a couple of years ago it felt like. This was a good opportunity to "load manage" him. A win is a win, I guess.
He's struggled, especially for what we've come to expect, for a while though: slashing .245 .336 .462 .798 in his last 50 starts (+1 PH AB) coming into today.
