    Francis, pike
    for
    Jason terry,
    Boris Diaw,
    chris crawford
    Hawks 17 pick,
Lotto protected pick next year(if they are in the lotto next year then we get, their 2nd round picks for the next 2 yrs)

    Why?
They get rid of Terry and we get rid of Francis, two things both teams want to do

Unfortunately, they get the same problems w/ francis, but they sell tickets and upgrade what JT was for them

We get rid of francis, keep some scoring (which u need w/ a young yao ming) but with a complementary not star player, and a defensive stopper who scouts said passed well enough to play pg occasionally w/ his 6'8 frame(diaw).

We move mobley to 6th man

Get in the 1st round to upgrade pf and also get a scrub for scrub swap w/ pike and crawford

and a potential pick later on could end up being like the pistons #2 pick when they were a playoff team.

    JT/jackson/wilks
    diaw/mobley
    jackson/boki
    mo/draft at 17/cato
    yao/ cato

Before anyone comments on how Terry is not a "Real" PG, keep in mind that in his 2 seasons as PG, he has had a GREAT asst/to ratio. Also, Terry is a very good shooter.

Diaw would be nice off the bench.

Don't think I'd do this deal unless we got a good pick. Their pick next year unprotected would be good.

Interesting trade. Terry is a nice player, haven't seen Diaw play that much, but Crawford is a nice energy guy that could come off the bench.

Not sure if ATL would do this though. They give up a lot and don't improve that much or at all.

I like both Diaw and Crawford alot but the only way I do that deal is if I have a secondary trade lined up for Terry.

then try to swing something along the lines of terry + griffin + filler to the spurs for their 1st + rose
giving us another num 1 and a backup pf who is lost on the spurs bench
(then swing a deal of those 2 firsts (atl pick + spurs) plus mo to the bobcats for num 4 (ya right they wouldnt do it) but still, we would then pickup livingston)

    livingston/jackson/wilks
    diaw/mobley/jj
    jj/boki
    rose/cato
    yao/cato
with crawford etc. fillling in behind there

doubt it, seems like Harpring's the prototypical sloan player.

    and Terry is definitely not.

I wouldn't go for it either. It doesn't improve us and is a risky option.

This isn't the road map for a Ming team.

We need to dump both Francis and Mobley and get smart, skilled, good-passing shooters back. We don't need scorers, combos, or jackmeisters.

IF we take on a guard that doesn't fit the roadmap, there better be an allstar frontcourt partner for Yao in the deal. 'Cause the longer we let guards dominate the ball, the longer we put off maximizing Yao.

Sink or swim, Yao. Show us what you got.

How many wins did that wonderful assist to turnover ratio generate. And don't write he didn't play with anyone because he played with SAR, and they had other players go through there as well.

no. we need to change our parts for betting fitting parts. We have an all-star that doesn't fit. We need another one who does. Sometimes good is enemy of the best. You only win championships with the best.

Mike Bibby played with SAR too, generating a terriffic asst/to ratio, but losing like hell.

Hmmm, how's Mike Bibby doing today? NBA Finals appearance and Team USA? Not bad if you ask me.

Make your position here. Are you claiming that Steve is better at handling PG duties than Jason Terry? If so, prove it. I cite all the PG stats, as well as a smoother transition as reasons why Terry is better equipped. Also, Francis always had a better supporting cast than Terry. He played in the West, but his supporting cast was much better.
