Well when you win 16 games in a season and own the longest losing streak in franchise history, removing the coach at some point is not completely out of the question.

Wood should be moved if we are going to keep multiple draft picks and develop players. Wood may have had his best season last year, he was unable to stay on the floor. He will be 26 at the start of the season, and you are drafting guys that are 19. He is not that veteran presence at 26 that could help guide the younger guys and help in the locker room, he is a guy who is getting a late start after bouncing around the league. He missed a lot of time with a knick knack injury, and he is a guy who has not put on any muscle since he entered the league, for some guys this matters. 5 years ago on the Hornets Jordan was screaming at him from the sidelines to get in the weight room because he was getting bodied in the post, doesn't look like he listened to him. He is a good player for what he is currently signed to, but he will not be worth his next contract. He is similar to Chandler Parsons in the sense you want to be the one who finds him, not the one who pays him. His value will diminish as another year rolls off, and he doesn't really fit the timeline for this team as is. However. someone like Tate as an older rookie and about the same age I would say is someone I would keep around for what his value would be on the market, it is worth holding on to him. Having a good defender in practice and someone who seems to have good work ethic would benefit the younger guys on this team.

The only way Lillard makes sense is if we get rid of Wall in the trade and don't lose any major draft assets.

at some point, why not right now? lets get a fresh clean start:D

lol you cited a lot of arguments for why we should trade wood and to me its a sign you dont have 1 single valid reason for doing it, so you kinda tried to justify it somehow by adding a lot of small staff and question marks imho its just a symptom of tanking syndrome and perfectionism mindset...
using such a logic the trade of any player in the league right now could be justified lololol:D

the pinnacle of it was citing Jordan as if he has a clue on what it takes just because he was a great player... if he had any clue hes franchise wouldnt be the worst in NBA lolololol

Yeah we couldnt win with Harden, lost him for penauts and now lets trade everything we have left for lesser version of Harden. With already having pg John Wall at maximum. Smart money.

This is how we turn into this decade's version of the Knicks by caring about short term ticket sales rather than having a long term rebuild plan.

The last thing this team needs is a 30+ year old ball dominate star guard who is going to be past his prime soon.

This team needs to concentrate on building a core that Rocket fans can be exited about for the long term future.

if we had lillard this year and went for it we could have won it all.. the field is open as ever...I am not a fan of tanking...why wait 10 years to contend? we can do it right now instead of going for the tank and asterixing other teams titles like p*****s

No. We would be like the 8th seed with Lillard. Dude, this is how we turn into the Knicks.

We have the 2 pick this year that is going to land us a 19 year old potential future star, KPJ who is 21 and then we will have a couple of more high draft picks the next couple of seasons. That's where our core is going to be formed.

You are asking for long term mediocrity going after a veteran star now.

It would be more palatable but it’d kill our draft stock.

you sound a lot like knicks fan from the last half of the last decade talking about future potential and young stars who are only this or that years old...lolololol

i dont care about no potentials, lets go for the title this year, lets compete and let the chips fall where they may.... if suns could do it and heat the year before, we can do it... we could have done it last year if we only tried...
Of course, nothing is ever guaranteed and the tankers mentality is just that, pretending there is a sure thing in the future, but the reality is maybe there is no future at all... its volatile times and we could be all dead next year for all we know, or dont even follow the basketball or NBA...

I don't want to tank. I want to build around a young core.

If you want to meander into mediocrity for a decade, go trade for a 30+ year old veteran who is going to be past their prime soon who demands a massive contract on a roster that is no where ready for competitive playoff basketball.

Someone like Lillard would be someone I would consider 3 years from now at a much cheaper price when our young core guys are competitive and need a veteran star presence to get to the next step of contending.

Lillard fits on a team that currently is looking to contend now. That's where he wants to go and that's the type of team that would want him now.

show me the thread you predicted heat and suns getting to the finals and almost winning it all in the last 2 years

@fchowd0311 and the pro tank division, the doubters and L-lovers I challenge you all!

Going for Lily pad is dangerous. Say if by some off chance Portland caves, and trade Lillard here. Dame was loyal (to some extent to) Portland, he has zero obligation and emotional ties to HOU. Lillard is at a point in his career, he's OK with publicly pressuring the team that drafted him, why wouldn't he turn up the heat if he's in HOU.

Rocket's team is not in Lillard's window, there's little to stop Dame from holding out and demand a trade out of HOU. In which case, HOU is risking pennies on the dollar, everybody looks bad out of the deal.
