So, bobbytheholic believes the G League is YMCA level talent. “I pick….(sigh) you, yeah, 45 year-old white guy.” “Okay, y’all are skins.”

I think you're picking a fight which is unnecessary.

What I said was that Green was a streaky 3ball shooter like KPjr and his 36% 3P may not translate immediately in NBA.

The same thing happened with Porter, his 3ball was better towards the end of regular season vs. the 1st few months he was called up from the Vipers.

15 games is extremely small sample size, expectations need to be more reasonable.

I may not lean Green, but I'm far from a Green hater.

Would anyone be surprised if Green is drafted and they pull a move like in '06 for Battier? I'm good with Green or Mobley but the franchise needs to stay the course on this rebuild. Please no delusion of reaching relevance next year.

Not trying to pick a fight, just confused. I could've sworn you just
commented about Mobley doing better in 3-pt range as he becomes a pro
due to spacing in the NBA (on another thread). It was a discussion involving
Bassey/Mobley......but it's different for Green? Idk?

Who is Player X? First name Kobe Last name: Bryant

I don't care for people claiming Jalen Green won't improve after just 15 games.
Not you in particular.....but some people. The highschool coach said Jalen
works hard and made improvement and Brian Shaw said Jalen works hard
and made improvements to his dribbling and defense from day one.

I don't think it's fair to label the guy as a career poor defender or bad passer
after just 15 games. I don't do that with Mobley. I've never said Mobley will
probably be inconsistent with his 3-pt shot. I've just said. Bassey is better at
the 3 than Mobley during the season. I've said, please don't tell me Mobley will
improve but Bassey won't. They both will probably improve.....as may Jalen Green.

Kobe improved as his rookie season went on from 15 games to the final 56 games.
More rebounds, stls, assists, FT%, +/-, pts....as Kobe went from 10 mins to 17 mins.

There is no reason why Jalen Green can't improve his defense. He has all the tools.
3-pt shot should improve as he spends more time committed to shooting them in the
gym. Plus better spacing. Passing should improve as spacing is greater as well.

Just hearty debate. You often equate College to NBA......well then G-league stats
transfer as well. Green stats must be as good as Kobe NBA stats. Or does it make
    a difference?

Green did not put any effort on defense in HS. He admitted this himself recently.

His inconsistent effort on defense is not the propaganda you think it is.

So it's not just a 15 game sample size from G League.

Did Harden put any effort into defense his first 5 seasons? Booker?

Ayton was called out by Embiid when Ayton said he thinks he is the best
big man his rookie season. Embiid said, you have to play defense also for
that distinction. Lillard? and so on, and so on.

You seem to think so highly of Mobley playing zone defense as if that is man to
man defense. All you have to do is patrol a small area. Help is just a few feet away.

Put Mobley on the G-league Elite squad with their defensive players and let Jalen
Green play zone defense at USC......let's see the outcome

Again, every scouting report states that Mobley can rim protect as well as switch 1-5.

    Every. Single. One.

Convincing me otherwise will not change that fact.

    Let's agree to disagree.

Green will never play defense or rebound. Harden at least rebounded. Watch the tapes…they don’t lie.

Man the way Stone talks and then knowing Tillman Fertata who probably values short term ticket sales more than having a long term rebuild plan, I'm very afraid.

I'm very afraid they are going to trade away the pick and try to pursue someone like Lillard and turn into this decade's version of the Knicks.

Harden also played borderline elite post defense. But it’s not fair to compare a g league player to a HOF. Kid would be lucky to be half of what James is.

Tilman is over leveraged. Unless they magically hit a home run this will happen

A perimeter player is supposed to have the speed and poise to defend the perimeter though.

Saying that about someone who's 19 is kinda premature dude.
