Giannis took the hard old school way!.. Team failed amid lofty expectations his 1st MVP season... Came back , won another but failed badly... Came back this year, paced himself, said all the right things, overcame adversity and critique from people that never wore a professional jersey... Next stop HOF and starring in Space Jam 3 ...

The refs ignored fouls by EVERYONE. The amount of physical contact they allowed was off the scale but that's not why the Bucks won - they won because they were bigger and more determinded than the Suns. No matter what happened - no matter how bad things were going for them, the Bucks simply refused to quit until the final buzzer. Their will to win was incredible and that's why they are NBA champions this morning.

Used to really dislike giannis cause of his beef with harden. But now that hardens’ gone and after his finals performance I definitely respect him and it’s hard to hate the guy

Where do we put Giannis on the list of all-time greats now? If Giannis retired right now:

    1 championship
    2 MVPs
    1 DPOY
    5 All-NBA selections
    4 All-Defensive team selections
    5 All-Star appearances

    Before the age of 27.

If we stack him up against the greatest power forwards of all time, where would we rank him? In no particular order:

    Duncan
    Nowitzki
    Garnett
    Malone
    Barkley

Does he belong in the conversation right now?

Yes. And his box score stats are off the charts as well. It's not just the awards and the wins.

Where would you personally put him, rankwise? I know it's all subjective but just curious.

I am fan of Freak then he beefed with harden & I sided with the Rockets. Now I can appreciate his greatness.
Then he did me a solid & eliminated the nets dominated the finals in route to a ring.

    Congrats GreekFreak!

If we use the same criteria some around here are using to argue Giannis > Harden then very soon it’s going to be pretty clear Giannis > Dream.

But I imagine those same people won’t be doing that.

Lol in no way am I a Harden "fanboi" or think Giannis "stole" the mvp. If you had actually read my post correct you would see I said he was a great player but carry on.

Hakeem could do everything Giannis does, plus the greatest post move repertoire of all time, and a feathery jumpshot.

Giannis is not better than Dream lmao.

This is no diss to Giannis, but peak Dream was as good as any player ever.

His story is great. Then there is his play style. People can have opinions all over the map - and they do! Take that, Twitter!

Dream would have a field day in this era. He could dribble, he could guard 1-5, he had a jump shot (bet he would of developed a three point shot), beautiful post moves, could hit free throws, could also chase down guards on the fast break, etc.

The guy was a freaking beast playing in one of the best eras for post big men.

On top of everything, his game isn't even supposed to fit within the standards of today's version of the NBA. A big that doesn't have a reliable jump shot outside the paint.

Yet here he is, the best player on the best team in the best basketball league in the world. Regardless of how one feels about Giannis, it's extremely hard to hate on him.

Not sure how to rank his career up to this point, but his recent 3-year run is about as good as it gets for his position. Have any of those players had a better 3-year run?
