Capela wasn't traded because of inability to switch. He was traded because of his inability to space the floor at all and had no offensive compatibility with Westbrook. Covington got cooked in switch coverage even more than Capela did. CP3 absolutely destroyed RoCo in iso in the OKC series, it was maddening. Covington did make up for it with his overall team defense and floor spacing, IMO.
Just makes defenders look silly. Also very good athleticism outside of lateral quickness. Seen some comps, I think a better one is a modern day Kevin Mchale.
At this point I’m confident in saying simply if you don’t like Sengun you just don’t like basketball. Watching him play if you don’t feel some kind of way then there’s nothing left inside you. Watching Green I can appreciate the athleticism but zero advanced playmaking and severe size limitation means a career long defensive liability and one dimensional player. Watching Cade, I enjoy it because it puts me straight in my afternoon nap.
Capela was traded to go 5 out on offense and switch everything on defense. Capela wasn’t a great switch defender. Wasn’t bad for a big man. The point still stands, there aren’t many bigs that can switch onto guards and not get cooked.
I saw him in a mock at 29 around the time of the lottery. He has really been moving. Fox Sports has him going #6!
Too bad 3s are greater than 2s. Bad lateral quickness is a pass for me dawg. He makes EURO defenders look silly would be surprised if he makes Giannis and AD look silly. Filip Petrusev looks to translate much better than Sengun despite being an inferior prospect. He might not put up the nos Sengun will put up, but he has the spacing that will allow perimeter scorers to have their way and still has quickness to not be a liability on defense.
He posted on ig about working out at Spurs and Kings. If your franchise is at all involved in analytics, which most teams nowadays are, you are probably not going to let the most statistically significant player to come by in the last decade slip by. Kings have old Rockets management in charge now so I’m guessing 9 is as low as he falls. I’m keeping my eyes on okc, they drafted Poku last year who is an interesting prospect who’s production wasn’t anything near Sengun. They also drafted Sabonis which shows Presti is not afraid of that prototype, the only downside anyone can come up with for Sengun.
Sengun scores at an efficiency that is higher than prime Curry, so no, 3 is not greater than 2 if you score 2 or get fouled nearly every time you touch the ball.
3>2 and if you put Prime Stephen Curry in that Turkish league he will prob score 90 pts a game on even higher efficiency.
That Turkish league is the second highest paying domestic league in Europe and have actual professionals playing in it. Not kids that will become PE teachers like in the NCAA. Not fringe players that can’t make a pro league in Europe like in the g league. If you have a problem with Senguns numbers out of Turkey then don’t draft Green or Mobley who played in far inferior leagues. Now back to 3>2, that’s an argument originated by analytics people, but now being parroted by people who can’t do elementary school math. For 3 pointers to be worth the same efficiency as Sengun’s scoring you would have to make them at 45% clip, which is higher than all but the best 3 point shooters.
I dont have a problem with Sengun's nos I have a problem with you comparing his stats to prime Steph Curry playing in the freaking NBA like they are somehow comparable.
