All about how hot you are heading into playoffs. If Astros are cold they lose in three and get swept in games like this one today.

Astros get hot and they will be representing the AL in World Series

The 3rd base runner (Engle) was going home....caught in a run down....his teammate (Abreu) went to 3B and got to the 3B bag. But Engle went back to 3B and pass up Abreu and was behind him. Maldy tagged Abreu then Engle. Abreu is called out b/c he's ahead of Engle and Engle was off the 3B bag to be tagged next.

The smart play was to have Engle just get tagged out and have Abreu at 3B.

because the lead runner has left the bag, he was passed in effect by the trailing runner who is automatically out, then the lead runner is tagged out while he is off the bag.

It’s the order of the runners. If they had been reversed, only one would have been out. (I’m pretty sure). The lead runner over ran the base, so he was tagged out. If he had stayed on the base, he would have been safe and the other guy out. At least I think that’s what happened here....

Cleveland tacks on a run in top-9, 4-2 vs the A's going to the bottom.

Everyone here is correct, I'll just add that once a runner occupies a base (either by stopping on it or running past it), that is "his" base until he reaches another or is out.

Indians never won a series in Oakland since 2014. Before the trash series 3.5 from the A's, after today still 3.5. No win, no lose except A's losing close games again. I'll take the draw after 2 magic acts the last 2 days.

So apparently there's been some F*** Altuve chants in Yankees Stadium tonight. Yankee's are playing their supposed biggest rival, a team that they are 8 games back of, and the Astros/Altuve is in their heads.
