Great performance by Lance. After those first 2 batters he settled down and dominated a good lineup. 5-0 against CWS who happen to be one of the best teams in baseball. Today will be a good test, as Giolito has historically been really solid against us, but is having a down year in comparison to his last couple of seasons. Gotta get Yordan going again soon.
Just checked, the White Sox have the best record in the league against teams under .500 (38-11). Against teams .500 and above they are 16-25. They’ve also played the 5th easiest schedule so far (2nd easiest in AL, only behind Twins) and every team in their division has played poorly against teams at or above .500 with only the Tigers having a slightly better record (25-33). If they were in the East or West, I’m not sure they are above 4th right now..and, yet, they are currently battling for the best record in baseball. https://www.baseball-reference.com/leagues/MLB-standings.shtml http://www.espn.com/mlb/stats/rpi/_/sort/sos Funny thing is that the White Sox have only a slightly tougher schedule than the Astros remaining (.494 vs .492) even though the Astros have played the 3rd toughest schedule to date, mainly due to the Sox own division. http://www.tankathon.com/mlb/remaining_schedule_strength (FYI: Oakland has the 4th toughest schedule remaining and are 27-29 vs teams at or above .500…Dodgers are right above them at 20-21)
Kershaw went on the injured list today. Will miss several starts. https://www.truebluela.com/2021/7/1...njured-list-stint-longer-forearm-inflammation
