I'm cool with 2nd pick and 13th for us. Trade the 24th and 25th for some other **** or gain more picks.
The Rockets have three firsts this year and a slew of firsts in upcoming drafts. They have the ability to move up to #1 any time they want. It sounds more like they are trying hard to move players currently on the roster. I'm not sure that it's necessarily related to the #1 pick. They may just be selling it that way.. Rather than acquiring a bunch of picks to move up one spot, I'd rather see them bundle those picks to get another pick in the 7-10 range.
Problem with having Cade Cunningham on the Rockets. Cade has a kid at 19 & he lived in OKLAHOMA for a year. This means the guy is hungry for that thick booty. Teanna Trump lives in Houston. Cade = Dwight Howard @Jontro
my mistake…dangle 23 or 24 with whatever irrelevant player on the roster my have some value to move up a few spots if need be but I’d be happy with Cade and just drafting someone at 23 or 24
I don't even know at this point, we went from having no first round picks to this many. I'm all confused. haha
The Rockets may be steadfastly opposed to giving up any of their future unprotected FRPs. If so, I understand that logic.
Does it matter? We’re not trying to build a championship team yet. We can take on some trash if it gets us in better position to acquire the talent we want.
Are we supposedly looking to acquire other picks because we're in some sort of bidding war with OKC for Cunningham, or so that we have other picks for ourselves and "#2, #23, and your own pick back" is going to cut it? Just saw this. R I F. Reading is Fundamental.
I'm cool either sticking with #2,#13 & #23 or 24 or trading #2 & #13 for #1. I would ask for Detroit to kick in a second rounder or two for Bassey/Onu and Wieskamp/Lewis.
Glad to hear Stone thinks like us in wanting to send Gordon and late pick for the 13th to Indiana. However, I'm keeping that 13th pick. It's too much to give up for Cade. If he was Olajuwon, Lebron or Duncan, it's a no brainer. Keep the 13th pick and try to package it with the 24th pick plus the Detroit pick and see if you can get the 10th pick. 14 days left.
But would we have to match salaries in that scenario? I would love to move on from EGO's contract and barely-there availability (not as much as Wall's, but I'm keeping my dreams modest, not Brazilian Victoria's Secret supermodel dreams), and Tilman Fertitta would love to hoist LUXURY TAX SAVINGS once again.
That's the way I see it. Having Trash Gordon and picks 2, 23 and 24 is worse than having Trash *Whoever* and picks 2, 13 and 24.
Yes. We’d have to take back Jeremy Lamb and Justin Holiday to get it done. But that’s still a great deal for us.
It would be pretty dumb to get 13 and then trade it just to move up to 1. Cade better be f'n Luka if you do that.
"Well, are we gonna do that trade with the Rockets or what?" "I was all set to call Stone and take the deal. But then I was on the Rockets fan site. This 'j sizzle' said it would be a stupid deal. You know, now that I think about it, he's right....it is stupid! No. No, I won't do it." "Find this j sizzle's IP address. Send him a box of Caramel Dee-Lite cookies and a thank you card." "I called him. He says 'keep your cookies and give me the #13 pick instead'. G**damn Rockets fans."
