Well. It’s obvious now. But you have to deal with these things face to face. You can’t hide from it. There will a game next year and the Yankees will be there. Best to just go, swing the bat, and come home. The players will forgive them face to face, but they have to go. This makes it worse, and we can’t win this war. It’s already been lost. If we give a middle finger they can shove a stick up our ass again and nobody will care. Must make peace and put a blanket on it. Feuds end badly and we are on the wrong side of it. None of us want to do that, but if we don’t, good chance it blows up in our face.
If I were Altuve and had to stand up there for a pre-game introduction to get boo-ed relentlessly, then I would give them the middle finger wave. Altuve didn’t cheat and has been vilified because he smacked that HR against Chapman the Choker to advance us to the WS. Then, whomever dipsh_ts put a buzzer story out there that was absolute nonsense.
I don't know about you but I'm not watching that "game" tonight and I hope most of our fan base is doing the same. Must be nice to be able to lose a teams fan base viewership just so your media can continue to villify a team in your own league. Growing the game!!
Did anyone else hear the interview on ESPN 97.5 with Cardinals INF Matt Carpenter? (He’s from Houston). Zerlein and Granato were asking him about the sign stealing and he basically said what we all know which is “the Astros certainly weren’t the only ones doing it and that they fell on the cross for the entire league.” It was a great interview.
I watched 0 HR Derby and 0 All-Star game this year. HR Derby is ridiculous when you can go get some practice swings in-between rounds, it is like the NBA Slam Dunk contest. And no interest watching 1 pitcher = 1 inning and those fugly uniforms. I'm really curious if Houston will ever host an All-Star game?!?!?!?
I haven’t but I’m sure it’s posted somewhere, I’ll have to peep it at some point. I hope the players are finally getting sick of it like we are and are ready to move on. Edit: it’s on espn975.com
There has been NO GAME since Sunday and won't be another till Friday. Everything in between is the static between stations..
Kinda unfortunate with the timing of the opt outs. Had it played out the same way, Correa (health and safety protocol) and Pressly (paternity leave) would have had approved reasons to skip the event. Maybe Altuve too with his dad being in the hospital. That being said, something to be said about standing up for something. MLB hasn't done themselves any favors by making sure the Astros took the fall for all of baseball with the sign stealing.
