Ok good. Then we see it equally. I've said it before, Jalen having less wingspan, hand size and weight of Kobe/MJ will be countered by Greens quick first step, allusiveness, stop on a dime then re-acceleration suddenly will allow Green to get to spots near the rim others can't get to as fast.......but then the hang time sets Green apart from others. MJ/Kobe-lite in this NBA-lite era. 3-tier level of scoring (3-pt line, mid range, near the rim.....add FT's) and you have a top notch scorer. Add a defensive combo guard to go with Wall/Eric Gordon and Khyri Thomas such as Scottie Lewis/Duarte/T Mann/Miles McBride & the Rockets will be fine. Set at SG/PG for the next ten years with Green/Porter, backed up by Khyri Thomas and said drafted defensive minded 3&D combo guard aforementioned.
from KOC “I’m hearing the same thing as you. That the Rockets love Cade, that they would want to try and get him — whether it’s trading up, or hoping that Detroit passes on him at No. 1.”
Wasn't Cade only going to work out for Detroit(whoever got the #1 pick b/c he only wants to go #1). So i doubt the Rockets got an interview/work out with him for this to be anything more than a smoke screen unless i've missed something.
Wait I was led to believe he's a massively undersized SG with T-Rex arms. A one trick pony that hasn't even mastered that one trick whereas Mobley's elite both offensively and defensively.
Come to think of it, if the Rockets draft Jalen Green to pair up with KPJ, it'll be like we lost one Harden and got 2 back.
A scenario where the Rockets want Cade would probably involve PIstons still taking him #1 so he can get that #1 contract, then Rockets select for the Pistons at #2 to swap+ #23, #24 and more most likely. If Cade had that much separation from the others, this wouldn't even be a possibility so it makes me hesitant to give up too much. It's kind of a CWebb for Penny type scenario. Both prospects are going to be great, but it comes down to making the move based on fit. Traded by the Golden State Warriors with a 1996 1st round draft pick (Todd Fuller was later selected), a 1998 1st round draft pick (Vince Carter was later selected) and a 2000 1st round draft pick (Mike Miller was later selected) to the Orlando Magic for Chris Webber. I'd rather have Penny, Vince Carter(GS managed to get that pick back through trades only to trade VC for Jamison on draft night), Mike Miller and Todd Fuller. So obviously my point is that it is going to cost a lot and we have no idea how good our other picks could turn out to be. Unknown future picks + It's a deep enough draft that 23,24 could be great + the separation of the #1 pick from the potential stardom of the next 2 is just not a big enough gap to do for a 17 win team in full rebuild---and i was 100% on the Cade hype train before the lottery and still am but he's not LeBron. KPj as our future PG helps me pass as well.
Giddey might be better than Cade Kai Jones might be better than Mobley Moody might be better than Green We dont know whats gonna happen thats why I orefer keeping our pick or even trading down.
Either way Green needs to improve his jumper or else teams will sag off him. He kinda remind me of Morant in the way he plays, a lot of straight line drives head first at the rim, but still quite raw
We are in a win-win situation. We either get a pissed/motivated Cade or a pissed/motivated Jalen Green.
So nbadraft.net not only moved Green up to the Rockets but they redid their ratings and have Green up from 95 overall to now 99 and Mobley is now 97 overall and although I'm not 100% i believe he was 99 previously so they dropped Mobley down. Also of note: they finally changed Greens player comparison from Eddie Jones to now Bradley Beal. Eddie Jones was an athletic 2 way player whom Mj called one of the best perimeter defenders so maybe nbadraft was a bit high on how good Green could become defensively(i still think I'm the only one seeing Latrell Sprewell with a good head on his shoulders and high work ethic). They have a simple and basic 1 through 10 category system but I like seeing their mock history and which they rated well and who they overrated. Thabeet and Mobley share the same overall rating btw
Mobley isn’t elite offensively. Lmfao. And Mobley ain’t all that defensively. Gets pushed around and can’t rebound.
Suggs has trex arms. I have been one of the ones believing Green doesnt look a full 6'5 and definitely not 6'6. Neither does Cade look 6'8 either. But that's just me. Maybe its the hair that throws me off.. idk if any official measurements available and I wonder why? I brought up his wingspan only to illustrate how much smaller he is than Mj and Kobe for those comps.
Pretty sure Mobley has been at 97 the whole time. I'd be happy with any of these guys (Cade, Mobley, Green). It's pure luck we even have a pick this high.
The Kobe comps are an assault on basketball as a sport. The man is rolling over in his grave. Green is closer to Jordan than Kobe, Jordan Clarkson.
Dude is ok at scoring and can jump, can’t make an advanced read off pnr, and is not particularly good at basketball overall. Call him empty calorie buckets. Zach Lavine at best, loser. Mobley should be such the obvious pick that it isn’t even close. Wtf are y’all even thinking? Any random kid that can jump is the next Kobe? Have some damn respect for the dead..
