Huh? There are plenty of frontcourt players in that 15 - 30 range. Jackson, Sengun, Garuba, Jones, Thor, Sharpe, etc.
My big one is "It's a guard league" Used to attempt supporting getting the worst defensive guard tandem in the league.
I had time to think about it and I guess I should say this, if sengun moody or jalen Johnson is available at that 13 then I would probably do the deal because of the upside…there’s actually a lot of talent that could possibly fall to 13 that would be worth trading tate for (and I love Tate) So I guess, I reverse my original position just because of the talent level of this draft
What’s the worst case scenario here ? prolly that Patrick has read and agrees with the “case to trade up for sengun” thread
Have you honestly seen anything from these players that says Franchise player. Wood is already 25. Tate is 25 and short. Kpj has been a head case. This team or talent didn't even make us think playoffs was an option. Until the next Rockets messiah arrives everyone is an asset.
How many teams in the league actually have a franchise player thou, only a few..... And I can't think of maybe more than a handful franchise players currently in the league. They don't come often, and judging our team specifically by last year is a bit unfair. How many franchise players in the past 20 years have been truly successful their first year? No, I don't believe anyone on our team is even close to that good or even has the potential. But that does not mean that they are void of potential either. Put Tate on a good team in the playoffs playing solid defense and you wouldn't even be thinking about having a player like him right now, thing is we have some pretty good young talent by rookie standards.
And perhaps bust potential as well. Not one team ever after drafting #13 said “damn, what the **** were we thinking?” Most teams I suspect think they got good value for the pick, even an outside chance of a diamond in the rough. Tate is the proverbial bird in hand.
Most consider Sharpe a 5 or a 4/5. Good rebounder. Can play with his back to the basket. I agree with the rest though. There are a lot of 210 6’10” prospects who would be 3s if they could hit 3s.
Harden and Kyrie just need health and they'll be the worst defensive guard tandem in the league winning champioships in dominant fashion. Lillard and Cj another thats consistently been a threat but their roster is too lopsided for O. It isn't a "guards" league, but it is a perimeter players league no matter what traditional position they are given.
Dirty diaper my a**. If they got that pick I would rather take the 13 and the other pick with Wood and one of the future picks and move up. Take Mobley and Green or Suggs. Or Green and Kumunga. Hopefully get a top top 4 pick next draft and then see where your at. Maybe Cunningham is by far and away the best player. I would rather roll the dice on two of the top 5 players instead of you can pull it off.
The tweet is somewhat funny I guess, more projecting than anything else! How can you call #1 (5000) and #2 (1000) when there is no definitive player slotted at #1? Both Cade or Green…heck even Mobley can be the first pick. Stupid does what stupid is…Rhett Bauer! (P.S.) the post is not responding to you @hakeem94 it’s the tweet… ……. ……. …….
I would suggest it was dangling a dirty diaper and $500 for $2000 then dangling $4800 and $2000 for $5000
That seems crazy on the surface, but you’d probably get a top five pick again next year and you might be able to do enough maneuvering to end up with another lottery pick. Use those two on back court players and watch the championships roll in!
