I assume they wouldn't draft him with their top pick if they had major concerns about signability. Seems like a surprisingly high upside pick for #87.

I really like the Whitaker pick, I’m surprised he was available at 87 and will be very surprised if he signs for near slot. Not as high on the Ulloah pick but I like that they’re going for upside.

Whitaker will probably be the 6th-10th best prospect in the system if/when he signs. Ulloah would probably slot in the 15-20 range. Good values both.

Go High School for sure, I think more potential and more years to develop in the minors.

Kavadas is still available and would be great in the 5th. These next few picks are going to be where the biggest wins can happen. There’s still a lot of good players left.

Seems like a another high upside pick especially for a Sr. Plus speed/arm, productive at the plate the last 2 seasons. Hit 10 HR in 36 g so there’s at least some power there. Lots to like. His coach is a former Astros farmhand (Alex Sogard).

Seems like a good value pick. MLB has him ranked as the 37th best draft prospect and ESPN has him ranked as #30. Hopefully we'll be able to sign him.

It was quick, but I think he was projected at #37. I don't know if that's good or bad, but it might be because he is an outfielder and not a pitcher or infielder which seem to be premium positions.

Brantley should be long gone by the time he makes it to the majors, if he ever makes it. Odds are under 40% that 3rd rouind picks ever get called up to the majors.

This is the second year in a row that Click has drafted a high ceiling high school talent with our lack of 1st and 2nd round picks.

I love the strategy here. These kids are excited to play for the Astros and many of them have mentioned the player development system within the org is top notch.

Jimmy Click seems like a very calculated dude. Wouldn’t be surprised if he hits big on a couple guys in this draft.

OK, got a little respite from work.

Round 6, Pick 178: Spencer Arrighetti, RHP, Louisiana-Lafayette

Transferred to UL from TCU. Went to Cinco Ranch.

Cinco Ranch. The ranch with no cattle.
