It's just getting strange at this point. It's like making Wolverine female or turning Tony Stark into a female with a completely different origin story. I don't understand why they are even using the names of the characters if they just fundamentally change them.
Comics do weird **** like that all the time. I also think they have went too far to change things just because they want to check a box or appease but I am willing to see if the change makes sense or if it really does not matter. So either the character works or it does not I am not hung up on canon because the comics change origin stories all the time when they want to take the comics to a different place.
Haven't seen the movie, but that behavior sounds sloppy and more like what other studios used to do. I guess they getting sick of chaining all these movies and making continuity work? Wouldn't make sense seeing how they profited so much off it working...
It's becoming embarassing. They are pushing away the fan base that made them. I mean, this can't be coincedence, right? Hulk phased out to She-Hulk Iron man has one daughter (will be successor most likely) Hawkeye has one daughter (will be successor most likely) Thor gave up his crown to Valkyrie Ant-man has one daughter (will be successor most likely) Setting up Black Widow's sister to take over Spider-Woman movie in production Captain Marvel and the smugness of that character I mean, will there be any male superheros left? DC has begun to do the same it looks like
It's not bad with lower expectations. The Nirvana cover for the opening credits was an unnecessary downer. It felt like an onset to a migraine. Definitely skip past it. Review was accurate in the sense that it was shoehorned in and the movie didnt have a purposeful link that tied it together like Rogue One. This movie could've been made 4 years ago but did it really need to? Other than that big question, it hits some checkboxes for an entertaining summer blockbuster. I liked the sister tho. The definitely built her up as a replacement. I meant continuity with comics in response to Taskmaster.
Pretty decent flick... 7.5/10. Paid the 30 bucks and would do it again. Unbothered with the Taskmaster decision. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ edit: And yeah... I agree with @Invisible Fan about the Nirvana cover.
Also came in with low expectations, that and 20+ movie franchise bought more extra credit than I would have thought. There are a ton of things that aren't great to bad about this movie... I didn't care... loved it.
They really should have made Spoiler: spoilers I guess the black guy Taskmaster. why was he even there? what were they thinking? They really should have just made a movie about Budapest with Hawkeye co-staring, sprinkle in some Florence Pugh, and you're done. the movie is fine. I borrowed it from the internet.
Keep going on this line of thought and people will start calling you a conspiracy theorist and/or sexist.
is this an essential movie to watch? i'm inclined to skip this. blek window is my least liked character. will i miss any important details for future movies/series?
Very solid movie. Better than Captain Marvel by a mile. Good spy action thriller, a tad over the top at the end, but whatever, it worked. Taskmaster’s fights were a little underwhelming. They should have had a ‘family’ four on one to beat TM. Would have been more gratifying action-wise and emotionally. Yelena kind of stole the show. She’s the type of girl who is cuter once you see her personality come out. I give it a B. Pretty big Easter egg that has been overlooked: Spoiler Cap was around in the 80’s for Red Guardian to fight. It was either time-traveling Steve or the government has a secret super soldier program that’s been pumping new Caps out. As we saw in Falcon and Winter Soldier and in the Hulk movie the serum is still around. I think they’re going to keep developing this as a major plot line for the MCU
