Man I met said his daughters are good friends with Eric Gordon. Gordon said he’s enjoying his summer, having fun and not yet thinking about next season.

I caught that vibe too. Friends with benefits. She said her daughter didnt want to date someone that's going to live far. She was going to show me cell pictures but I aint have time for that.

If Tate is turned into a lottery pick in less than one season then Stone is a major player in the NBA because he is turning an undersized, undrafted & unsigned on a nothing contract player into a1st team all rookie then flips him for potential cornerstone building block to the franchise. He is turning air into assets. Just amazing.

Jae'Sean Tate is a good player, but generationally he doesn't fit into the team's long-term plans.
Houston is looking to build a talented group of players in their early 20s, and then, when the time comes, insert an established star.
    This is the plan...

A Tate trade would remind me of a Landry trade.. we will get over it soon.

Feels like the Rockets are trying to get two high picks. I'm convinced C-Wood is going to Charlotte, but Charlotte has been working out late First rounders. It almost seems as if there is a deal for the 23 and 24, for number 11. I'm not sure how that helps Charlotte get to the playoffs, but at least it gives them 2 chances to strike oil.

Maybe Wood is heading to Indiana? If the Rockets could nab the 11 and 13, how high does that get them?

If this team stays with Gordon, Wall and Wood and gets the 8th seed, that's a failure. Failure to compete and failure to tank and get game changing talent. But, if they get say two top 5 picks and get the 8th seed, then there is at least a buzz in Houston about the future. It would be an overnight rebuild assuming one of the picks are not a complete bust.

I wouldn't want Suggs though, it feels like his ceiling is too low. He doesn't seem to do anything at an elite level. Not a great shooter and not super athletic. Feels to me like the Shane Battier of guards.

    I mean.. are they?

They'll take young guys when the can sure.

But JUST taking young guys and keep rolling the dice as opposed to keeping the guys who have contributed and are a good presence on the team despite age (even then it's not like Tate's 30+) is the difference between being the Kings and being the Grizzlies.

As a fan I know who I'd much rather watch.

No offense mate, but I hate this way of thinking.

You think the Grizzlies are going.. oh well.. we only got the 8th seed, let's trade everyone by JJJ and Ja and start from scratch again.

You think the Suns would be in the Finals if they traded Booker because he hadn't made the playoffs for the 5 years he's been in the league and decided to build around Ayton?

I'm not saying we hang on to Wall or Gordon especially if there's a good enough offer on the table. But guys like Wood and Tate are the glue guys and role players you WANT on a rebuilding team. If Wood ends up being the 3rd star on a playoff team in a couple years (say behind KPJ and Jalen Green for instance) that has the potential for huge success.

I understand your point. I'm also not in favor of trading Tate for nothing. I said it, he is a good player, but the generation gap is important and this team is in rebuilding mode. We must be patient.

Generationally doesn’t fit into our plans? He’s 25 not 35. Moreover, he’s only making $1.5M next year and $1.7M the year after. Unless we’re getting a significant player or someone with major upside in return I’m not simply throwing in Tate just to get rid of him cause he’s 25.

Also, as a reference PJ Tucker didn’t really begin his NBA career until age 27. Every team can use a guy like Tate.

It's really not that massive. Look at the Suns 1st and 2nd best player.

    Look at the Bucks.

Then look at a team like the Mavs. Generationally KP and Luka "fit".

The teams that do have star players that are young and close in age - Boston and Philly - are surrounded by players of all ages.

There aren't a lot of teams i can think of where the top 5-6 players on a team are only a year or two apart.

He is 25 not 35. You need players like Tate on any kind of roster.

CP3 is 36. The generation gap between him and Booker and Ayton doesn’t seem to stop them.

Not saying Tate is CP3 good. But this generation gap thing is overblown. Which team has players all about the same age??? WTF

Perhaps we just extend Wall at the max for a total of 5 years. He was a #1 pick and is ready to dominate he just needs more money.

I really think they are significantly better than the 17 wins they posted.

You look at where they were before Wood went down with the ankle injury and who was getting minutes at that time to the NBA G league lineups they ran out there after ....

    Wood , Tucker , EG , Wall , Olidapo , House , Brown , Nwaba , Benny Mac & Cousins.

    After Wood went down ---->

    Brooks , Oliver , Jeffries , Patton , Lamb , Martin , Tate , KPJ.

And then look at the guys they sat .... Exum had the worlds worst calf strain. EG was gone for the duration , Wood was held out , KPJ too .... House sorry ass missed half the season.
