If Tate is included, Indiana will receive NOTHING else from us. No F'ING way they get 23/24 too. F THAT. Tate to move up 10 spots my penis. Quality of player at 23 is nearly identical to 13, and Tate is a young stud already, who I'd probably draft at 13, LOL.

If Tate is included, my guess is a stud like Jalen Johnson or Davion has dropped to 13, in which case the risk might be worth my massive heartbreak.

 

Well he's maybe better than the Holidays, but I'd rather have them than him.

We plucked Tate from the garbage pile just last year! It wasn't hard at all. No way the Pacers give up #13 just for Tate... or even Tate + 24. Realistically it will take more than that.

 

This is a silly argument. We gave up basically nothing to get KPJ. Guess you'd ship him off for a late 1st?

 

I'll give you an A for creativity.

 

Tate is not KPJ. KPJ has All-star caliber talent and is very young, but a track record of behavioral problems that ran him out of Cleveland. Tate is a league-average role player and going to be 26 y/o next season.

 

While he's obviously not KPJ, you are seriously underselling Tate's value. I mean, he made the All-Rookie team, and there was a massive drop-off vote-wise after the 6th ranked rookie (Quickley).

The whole "he's going to be 26" is overblown. Tate's game will age gracefully IMO.

 

Why you don’t include Pacers #60 as well. We can draft Garza or Scottie Lewis.

 

Tate is just more garbage that got some run on a bad team. His sell time is now. But trust me, everyone else knows exactly what we know, he's not worth anything. If they want talent they take Gordon. And that's a good deal. If they take Tate, god bless them. He's not even worth a 2nd rounder.

 

EG is not great, but he is a good defender, a decent scorer, just the type of veteran that Rick Carlisle needs on that Indiana team.

Why the hell they would give us No 13 pick for that, I have no ****ing idea, but this is all I got. I have no idea why I even have Chicago participating either lol.

I agree, and I wouldn't even trade Tate for 13 full stop. If Gordon, House or other vet package is an option, do that. This team is in asset accumulation mode, not lateral move mode.

Tate showed a tremendous floor and still has upside. #13 is just a number for now. You always take the known commodity over the inknown commodity™ (Clutchfans throwback).

Of course I also remember us taking Sam Dekker, Jeremy Lamb, Royce White, Terrence Jones in that teens range. Tate is already as good as the best of those guys.

 

I like Tate a lot, but you have to admit he's pretty low ceiling. He's the type that becomes a fan favorite role player, but is hardly irreplaceable. Even at #13 you're hoping for a bit more. In this draft that would be maybe a Sengun, Jalen Johnson, or Kai Jones. Tate is like six years older than those guys.
