yeah. the folks on cf's aren't anyone to dispel it. nobody on here is near in the realm to have the qualifications to say otherwise
I'm predicting Paul is going to be Finals MVP, capping off a spectacular run while simultaneously making Fertitta look even more foolish in NBA circles for his "worst contract in sports/business" comment.
But at the same time Harden has been able to orchestrate at a phenomenal level when healthy. He does seem to not move much without the ball and needs to do so. James can't start next season doing so much iso ball because they aren't going to allow him to get to the line like before with rule changes. He's got to pick and pop off the screen or eurostep to the rim. He can do it with his strength and footwork.
Another thing I don't like is that call on Booker's fadeaway as a kick to initiate contact when it's obvious that it's one continuous fadeaway jump shot motion. That's a terrible call. You fade back to get the shot off as the defender comes towards you and your legs naturally trail forward as you jump back. No offensive foul there dumb refs.
Man Dario went out like a champ. He actually got back and played a little bit of defense and then got back on offense as well if I remember that correctly.
goes to show the extreme amount of luck that goes into injuries like that and how everyone is different. Giannis knee looked much worse and was hit into. No structural damage at all in his knee. A wrong step/foot plant for Saric, ends up in a tear in his ACL for him
“When Chris Paul is younger, when you’re a younger athlete and you’re pulling shenanigans, everyone thinks it’s bush league, it’s bullshit. It’s a turn off to a lot of people. As you become the older, savvier veteran, it’s gamesmanship.” “As this redemption is happening, we all wash our hands of it, we delete all of our tweets from 12 years ago when we’re like “What a punk ass b**** Chris Paul is.” and now we’re like “Please basketball gods, the only thing I want is for Chris Paul to win a ring.” Still that punk ass embellishing b****. (But now he’s our punk ass b****! Now the lovable punk ass b****!)
LIkeable? Not sold. He's a guy you appreciate when he's on your team, but in general not a guy I'd define as likeable. HIs story is likeable though.
This is hogwash. I fart in the general direction of this podcast. Jordan and Kobe weren't likable. Hakeem wasn't likable. Bill Lambeer wasn't likeable. Kevin McHale. Isiah Thomas. It goes on for ages until the 2010s. Those guys didn't play to be liked. They played to dominate. Rondo is always a savvy veteran underdog. Draymond is considered a lovable, versatile donkey friend. Westbrook is a competitor who gives it his all. Paul is a choker, locker room cancer and an antagonist. OK. Only compared to the modern creampuff cereal banana boat generation of Lebron, AD, Harden, Griffin, Durant, etc.
is this just luck or jannis trained his body to exert itself more than an average player... harden also comes to mind he always plays , drives alot and is almost never hurt...
hmmm, i guess you mean they are not trained the way the muscles are trained? my guess the ligaments , directly or indirectly, also somehow adjust and get more or less resilient depending on the food regime, physical activities you do or dont do, state of the body-mind/psyche etc what reading you recommend on the topic if i am not asking too much?
I get what you are trying to say, but that is just not true. You don't directly train the ligaments, but you strengthen and solidify them by improving the strength, endurance, and flexibility in your quads, hamstrings, core, and lower extremity stabilizer muscles, NOT taking anabolic steroids (HGH seems to be protective for ligaments and tendons however). Some people are certainly more injury prone, and there are idiopathic reasons for this, but many musculoskeletal injuries originate with kinetic chain deficits. When you add trauma to the situation a torn ligament is even that much more likely.
