With Clay Thompson coming back they may want to take a run at one or two last titles with Clay and Curry before their done. This is the kind of trade a rebuilding team needs to make. Now you can offer 2 plus 14 to move up if Cade is what you really want. And you still have two top 7 picks to go along with 23 and 24.

If you could pull off that golden state trade I would sit tight at 2 and take BPA and maybe see what combo of this years picks and future picks could get me number 3 or 4. Imagine coming away with Mobley and Green or Suggs?

Rockets are Gold at the 2 spot, it’s a win win either way Cade or Green. Pistons have more pressure on them they can’t mess up passing on the better player. All this hype on Green is working to our favor. The media needs to boost Green more!

 

While I’m firmly in the Green at #2 camp, I’d be excited to swap with Detroit for Cam if all it meant was giving them back their pick. I’m also okay moving back to #3 if we pick up a valuable asset in the process.

 

Aftering rolling through the DET fanbase it seems they are not even interested in anyone other than Cade lol.

I think if they do trade down and don't get Cade the guy they get better be worth it or that GM will not last very long there. It's why I think they'll do the safest thing, draft Cade, and if he busts they can just shrug and say "What? He was the consensus #1 how were we supposed to know he'd bust?"

Stone has to put in work and see the cost. Doubt he will pull the trigger but proffesional will evaluate every option possible and then decide

 

Would trade up, however, I would prefer if Cade had explosion. That's something Mobley and Green have. So I have no problem holding our ground either. I want explosion from our top pick. Visual impact that the other team can feel and see. Cade really needs to work out for other teams because nothing is set. Smart people weigh the options, gather info and intel, but it's also a chance to spy on your competition.

 

If you are going to trade up from 2 to 1, the gap between talent needs to be incredibly large, or the cost incredibly low, in order to warrant doing it.

That being said, other than Kevin Durant, there are rarely cases in NBA history where the 2nd picked player is better than the 1st pick, and even fewer cases where the 2nd pick is the best player in the draft.
