The Rockets' 2022 and 2023 first-round draft picks must be untouchable!
Putting that aside, everything else can be discussed.

I like Cade, but I'm sure as Hell not giving up much to move up. Ergo..likely wouldn't happen. I'm more than happy taking Mobley at two.

I'm still confused why we would trade up. If Detroit is willing to give up the No. 1 pick because they want Green/Mobley over Cade, why do we need to trade for 1? We just keep 2, they choose Green/Mobley and we take Cade.

They can't really trade 1 with another team, because how do they know we won't take Green/Mobley at 2 and trump them.

    Only scenarios I see are:
    * If they have minimal interest in Green/Cade/Mobley and want to move lower altogether, but I highly doubt that.
    * If they can't choose/rate 2 or 3 players evenly, so happy for any of the 2/3. I struggle to believe a team wouldn't have a strong preference out of the 3.

I'm sure I'm missing some scenario!

    My best offer: #2, #24 and the Detroit pick for #1, #37 & #42.

No way am I giving up picks to exchange bad contracts .... particularly one that's a year longer than Wall's.

I ride Wall's contract to the trade deadline of 22 and see what I can get in exchange for that $47m expiring contract.

Ohhh I like that. I think the Rockets could be set with this draft then.

Future drafts would be added gravy

    Beautiful

Moves up to the "best" prospect in the draft and keeps our most important picks...

gives Detroit flexibility to make trades with their picks and draft a stud in Green/Mobley

I don’t see a trade happening. If they want Green and we want Cade, we could just take Cade at #2. If we both want Green, then it doesn’t make sense for them to give up the #1 pick.

We can do an AMC/GME boost of jalen and they can choose him #1. Then we get Cade. Diamond hands.

    Get to work.

Detroit is leaning Cade and would ultimately take him, but don’t feel so strongly about it that they wouldn’t be willing to move down if they like an offer…meanwhile, the Rockets love Cade and think he is that guy in this draft…that is the scenario where the Rockets would want to move up, and it would make sense to do so if they are right

Detroit is comfortable standing pat at No. 1 and taking Cunningham but will be active in exploring the possibility of trading down and obtaining additional assets, with Mobley a potential target if something gets done.

That's what NBA teams tell me they are hearing coming out of Detroit's front office. But would the Pistons really pass on Cunningham if the draft were tonight? I still think the answer is no. I would put Cunningham as the overwhelming favorite to end up in Detroit at that spot still

it’s not Detroit wanting those 2 over Cade, it’s more them being fine with 1 of those instead of Cade if they get extra assets that they like

    Trade Wood for GSW #7 + #14.

    Give Detroit #2 + #14 + #23 for #1.

Draft Cade + Alperen Sungun (or whoever you like at #7). Use #24 to get off Wall's contract.

If Detroit doesn't bite then draft Green/Mobley + #7 and use #24 to get off Wall's contract. Either way it's time to embrace the two season " aggressively targeted rebuild".

This just gives me flashes of Michael Beasley all over again. I am a bit uneasy about Cade, I only saw him play late in the year and in the tourney, I wasn't super impressed. Rose went #1 overall in that draft, I would go with the player that looks more like Derrick Rose this time around as well.
