Happy if cp3 gets one and finals mvp. Thats the guy thats usually on the receiving end so its almost sweet justice he gets a good run at it
Well to be clear any ring is legit so if the Suns win their win is still legit. I just think they are among the weaker champ teams in recent memory I mean Lakers were up 2-1 and seemed like they were gonna steamroll Suns before AD went down in game 3. And that's with Lebron playing with a bum ankle.
Yeah with Harden the efficiency just goes out the window in the playoffs for whatever reason. Booker is just straight money most of the time.
so cp3 didnt play injured in lakers series? and them being weaker champions are the warriors also the weaker champions since cp3 was injured, luc played with a bum shoulder, cp3 played hobbled ,capela had virus and was never the same, harden was poked in the eyes, refs helped them etc? how about last year lakers as the weakest champions 1st round lillard injured 2nd round westbrook injured house covided 4 final bam and dragic injured if anything this years suns steamrolled everyone even with cp3 out and/ or playing injured and covided and suffering injuries to multiple players, saric, payne, cp3
I'm glad this was the first response here. Would LBJ have won a title for Cleveland if not for the Warriors being somewhat hobbled? Would Steve Kerr have kept that dipshi**y grin on his face, mocking Harden, working the refs and fan sentiment between games, if CP3 hadn't gone down with a bad hammy? Or would his jockey shorts been the victim of nervous el chorro? Would Brooklyn have folded this season if Harden and Irving had remained healthy? This season had more injuries than most---hell, I can say I probably suffered in my middle age, not being able to go to the gym, I came down with some hand/arm problems that I might have avoided. Covid did its number this year. I want CP3 to win and for the Fertitta family to learn to keep its goddamned mouths shut when it comes to their players under contract. That way maybe we're not forced into bad impulsive trades. But as for Tilman, I don't hold out hope. His first act henceforth will be to buy even cheaper ingredients for his restaurants and make the food portions even smaller.
They didnt steamroll the Lakers as even with a Bum ankle Lebron Lakers took a dump PHX for 2 game straight before AD got injured. Last year Lakers steamrolled everyone as they went 4-1 every round. Didnt PHX Clippers go six games or w/e with Kawhi out? Thats not steamrolling thats a close series. Even when healthy or without any help from refs GSW arent weak champions as they had 4 all stars on their team along with a deep bench including KD, Steph and Klay who were all regarded as top 10 players at the time, with steph and KD being in top 5 in everyone's list. Compare that with PHX with only 2 allstars obv PHX is much weaker.
The Suns won 8 straight games before the prior season ended, they barely missed out on making it to the bubble playoffs, and that was without CP3 and some of the guys they added. We have literally seen Booker and more so Ayton mature over this season and playoffs. You add a hall of fame point god and are 1 game from the best record in the NBA, anyone who says this is luck is just a hater.
At the end of the day no one will remember who was injured after a few years. It will say somehow if they win, the Phoenix Suns are NBA champions just as it did for The Raptors when they beat a hobbled Warriors team. What I’m truly amazed is all those great Suns teams couldn’t do it, the Barkley years or the Nash teams, but this team that was suffering a decade long playoff drought. A team that showed a small glimmer of hope in the bubble last year winning all their games there, just suddenly came out of no where. They are taking advantage of what is a truly wide open NBA season. For people who watch the Premiere League in England, they are the Leicester City of the NBA.
