Question: What was the last thing you purchased from a Pawn Shop?

I want to say I bought a computer monitor or maybe a CD years ago.
    I just never go in there much . . . .
    but I am curious . . . .

I also found they wanted top dollar for used unknown reliability items

BTW Should i visit them more?

I was going on a trip to cancun few years ago and someone told me you could get a pretty good camera for cheap at the pawn shop.
It had never occurred to me and my mom used to say that buying from a pawn shop was buying someone else's misery. Not sure if that is true but if you get a camera for super cheap it doesn't matter as much if you lose it

I’ve purchased guns at Tomball Pawn before, but that’s just due to the fact that they’re really one of the best priced gun stores in the Houston area.

You should not. The internet has once and for all ended the mythical "pawn shop find". Now if they dont know what something is, they google it. If its rare or valuable and they might have trouble finding the market, it imediately goes on eBay.

The "golden age" when you could go in a pawn shop and find a 1952 Telecaster that sat under someone's bed unused for 30 years for like $50 ended in the early 70s, and its been slimmer and slimmer pickings on finding deals since. There was a time when you could seek out the most remote, hard to find shops and find some stuff, but even that is done and gone.

Best thing i ever found at a pawn shop was a twin of this, same brown sunburst, but the V1 not V2 he has (guy explains the difference in the video).

Most ridiculous bass guitar ever. Its essentially solid mahogany and weighs a metric **** ton, and has all sorts of crazy bells and whistles that are totally useless. I found it in a shop by Hobby Airport, and had great fun haggling, because we both knew that they didnt know what it really was, and how much it was really worth.

Bunch of other guitars and amps and other stuff over the years, some of them pretty hard to find, some not so much but that has all dried up about a decade ago.

I went into one probably 20-25 years ago (?) to sell my HP 48 sx (or was it gx?) calculator once since I'd probably never use it again. He offered me very little for it, so I kept it. I don't think I've ever been back in a pawn shop. lol.

Pawn shops are worthless. Thrift stores can be fun.

Pawn shops seem to think their stores can magically sell very used products at 15% less than new but honestly I think most are fronts for money laundering.

Also, why would anyone bid on one of those storage lockers. Wouldn't an employee go through and take out the good stuff before putting on auction. Then you pay to clean it up essentially. Seems to easy to scam you.

They have locks that have to be broken to get into the units. The storage unit hustle is not as good as it used to be back in the early 00's. It's all about returned merchandise pallets now.
