Stunning ‘Dragon Man’ skull may be an elusive Denisovan—or a new species of Human

In three papers in the year-old journal The Innovation, paleontologist Qiang Ji of Hebei GEO University and his team call the new species Homo longi. (Long means dragon in Mandarin.) They also claim the new species belongs to the sister group of H. sapiens, and thus, an even closer relative of humans than Neanderthals. Other researchers question that idea of a new species and the team’s analysis of the human family tree. But they suspect the large skull has an equally exciting identity: They think it may be the long-sought skull of a Denisovan, an elusive human ancestor from Asia known chiefly from DNA.

Marvel is claiming it to be one of the homo-immortals. They have been hiding that name in a well too, but now that Loki has come out as bi-sexual, it's gonna happen, lol.

I've been to Harbin and I'm not surprised that the worker who found it kept it hidden from the Japanese who occupied that part of the country then. The Japanese were very brutal and in addition to killing many Chinese were also conducting unethical medical and biowarfare experiments on Chinese prisoners in the Harbin area. If they had gotten the skull not only would they have taken it back to Japan they might've used it for propaganda purposes.

It's very interesting how many other homo species there were but our species was the one that survived. We outcompeted the others and either wiped them out or absorbed them. It's already been established that a lot of modern humans have Neanderthal DNA and it's likely that many have Denisovan DNA too.

Strange to think of multiple human level intelligences all existing and competing at the same time only 30,000+ years ago -- but really it's no different than the great apes today.

Dragon Man's psychic had to tell him, "Your head is going to be thrown down a well for a century, dug up, and then served up on a platter for everyone to look at. Don't forget pay on your way out."
