Mobley could guard 1-5 in college, no chance he's staying in front of most nba starters at the 1-2, no chance at all. Like I say, you're chasing a unicorn fantasy. He's not a dominant player, we can get a big in future drafts easy enough, the best ones in the nba play like bigs always played (Davis, Embid, Ayton etc do not do anything out of the ordinary for bigs. We need a classic big, unicorns don't get anywhere) this might be our only top 3 pick, I personally wouldn't waste it on a defensive specialist, I'd go for a potential game changing scorer. Cade or Green, everybody else is a tier below.

Mobley is not even a good free throw shooter... there's a lot to work on. Guard skills are nice but you got to put the ball in the basket and finish. Million dollar moves with 5 cent finishes are annoying.

If we are going to invest a valuable #2 overall pick in a 19-year old, then it is imperative that we undertake a complete due diligence process. This includes brains/IQ. It's not meant to be offensive to him or anyone, it's just gathering as much information as possible.

Furthermore, I'd like to see a psychological test developed for the NBA draft to measure work ethic, future leadership potential, and responsibility. A test such as this could have saved many teams from historical draft blunders - including the Rockets (Royce White). These tests are used in the international business world all the time -- I have both been tested by them (breathtakingly high score) and administered them to others.

I’m all for more of that type of testing… assuming done fairly… cause I’d agree the mental part is a huge part of the battle. There’s tons of more talented hoopers than PBev or PJ Tuckers of the world.

Only going from what we know as fans without inside information, it seems to me that Jalen has made a series of smart choices regarding his career AND most of his coaches and teammates rave about the mental side of his game AND you can see it for yourself in his interview with Mike Schmitz.

Or Green is, and has been, the better choice and you were just wrong.

Despite your spurious personal campaign for Mobley (or more accurately, against Green) across social media there really is no need to undermine the team's choice by suggesting it was based on anything other than merit.
That just comes across as sour grapes.

But then I'm not sure the team's best interest is a priority for you, at least not relative to your incessant quest to validate your own doltishly defiant crusades.

If you were thinking, you wouldn't have thought that.

Anyway, we'll find out soon enough. Maybe I'm wrong and going with the traditional SG who only brings flashy scoring to the table but struggled to be a top 30 scorer in the G league is the right idea. I'll certainly hope that is the case if the Rockets use the #2 pick on him.

Quite a bit went into me forming my opinion on the matter, so it's a fairly firmly held opinion at this point but, as is the case with anything, I'm always open to new information or data points that could challenge or entirely change that opinion.

Well in his defense he is trying to make a point. It doesn't matter if we ever get it.

I listed everyone who scored more per game than Green. Weren't you the one who was trying to hype up his ONE "playoff" game where his team got smacked by 25 points and most of his scoring took place after his team was already down like 20?

So even if you take out several players who scored more per game than him to try and make him look better, then he's what? Tied for 19th? Even when you cherry pick, and torture the data set as much as you can it doesn't make it that much better.
