I just want to know if a couple years from now Green will finally be good enough to be top 20 in scoring in the G league or if the "amazing competition" in that league will still be too tough for him.

Nope. In a couple of years you're going to have a couple of Jalen Green jerseys.

Well, sure, he's too good to ever play in the G league.

I highly doubt it. I have a grand total of 2 Rockets jerseys, A VERY old Olajuwon jersey and a DMo jersey. Even if Green is the pick, he's not going to be an Olajuwon/DMo caliber player so I can't see adding his jersey to the collection.

I only buy jerseys of true legends.

In Baseball, Nolan Ryan, Jeff Bagwell, and Craig Biggio

    In Hockey, only Patrick Roy

    I have none in football.

Keep hearing this narrative and I think it’s not accurate

Jalen Green would still not be the first pick in the draft if he went to college

G league did not hurt him- He might not be a household name due to going to a college considering college basketball so much more popular than the G league

But it did not hurt his draft stock if anything, Dropping 30 In a professional basketball game in the playoffs is more impressive then manhandling 18-year-olds playing d-1 basketball

I'd bet Michael Frazier and Isaiah Hartenstein would be thrilled to hear that you find dropping 30 in a G league playoff game is impressive given that they both did so in 2020....Hartenstein doing so twice.

Clearly that kind of accomplishment means you are set to take the NBA by storm.

Green doing what everyone knew he could already do in high school, but at a higher level of competition, didn’t hold as much weight with scouts as Cade going from a sus shooter to a strong one and displaying more of his scoring potential…those were the reasons Cade was ranked 2nd instead of 1st to begin with

and people overhype this G-League stuff…no defense is being played, wins and losses aren’t that important, there’s a lot more spacing than in college basketball, and it’s a lot more faced paced

I think Cade, Suggs, and Mobley would’ve done very well in the G-League too

people talk as if Cade would’ve averaged like 13 points in the G-League or Green would’ve averaged 30 in college

I’m Gang Green with our #2 overall pick, but not because of the glorified Summer League that is the G-League

There's no way that Green doesn't get picked 2nd after Cade. They're both going top 2, it's the order that's not set in stone (no pun)

Given the history of 2nd overall picks, Green would make sense.

I hope you're right, but I'm preparing to be let down and see the Rockets take Mobley instead.

This is true and factual but facts are ignored when it comes to things like this.

I mean we have a lot of posters here claiming that G-league is worse competition than NCAA which is simply not true but perception is everything when it comes to this.

The fact is that Jalen Green was #1 on ESPN's top 100 high school players list. In front of Cade,Mobley,Suggs and everyone else.

The only thing that happened in between is him going to the G-league and the other guys going to college.

March madness especially has people going "mad" for players that perform well in that period and fall in love with them, wasting high picks for inferior talent, just because they had a few good games. Has been that way forever.

Wade was a 2 way player from jump.

And a more advanced playmaker to boot.

DWade was only 6'4 but wingspan matters.

u can’t say that’s the only thing that happened like Cade showing he’s a much improved shooter and displaying more of his scoring potential didn’t occur…his shooting and scoring was questioned in high school which is why he was ranked 2nd…that’s why scouts weren’t sure if Cade’s shooting was real when he started out his college season shooting well from 3, and he eased their concerns as his percentages continued to stay up

The injury narrative is inflammatory and Green Gang love to repeat it ad nauseum without any support. Its plainly BS.

Mobley is not injured this draft, nor has he had a history of injuries, unlike Embiid.

And there is no reason Mobley cannot grow into Giannis type player. Giannis was even skinnier than Mobley when he came out.

Mobley's guard skills are more advanced. Also a better defender than Giannis when he was drafted.

And Mobley is better shooter than Giannis is RIGHT NOW.

I understand that Green is your preference but we need to stop spreading these false narratives about Mobley.

Green is good enough on his own merits without having to resort to dirty politics.

To be fair the Mobley Mob resorts to the exact same dirty politics of which you speak.

This is very true. We need to stop putting the other guy down because one of them will end up on this team and we will support that guy no matter what.

I'm fine with Mobley, it's just that i prefer Green but that doesn't mean that I'm making **** about Mobley up. He is a great prospect.

But to be fair, ridiculous statements aren't exclusive to GreenGang, they are also quite common in the Mobley camp.
