Pressly warming up? Figured Dusty would let Javier go another inning rather than throwing Pressly for what...3 straight nights?
Yeah… its a misuse of both guys. Javier was a stretched out starter. He does have some fatigue issues and 3rd time through the lineup issues, so he’s far more effective as a multi-inning reliever in the pen. Him going less than 2 innings any appearance is malpractice. Closers pitching 3 days in a row is always a gamble.
No, but if Stubbs somehow got on (I wanted to see him try a bunt) I would have had Altuve ready. Karinchak deals a ****ing typhoon of filthy **** to the plate. I like this guy.
I get having Pressly slowly warming up, but why in the hell would you not send Javier back out to at least start the inning?
So position players need constant breaks But your closer can go three days in a row when you have someone who is stretched out and dominated the 8th? maybe the training staff said only one for Javier
They mentioned pre-game that Altuve did none of his normal preparation given the off day, thus why he was still kept out of the lineup when they scratched Brantley. Guess this is the new normal. Off days are truly “off” days.
Straw is starting to grow on me in front of my eyes. Drawing walks and being more discipline at the plate
Ours, and every other team's. Why on earth would they trade him unless it was part of a huge offseason deal?
You are correct, not sure if there was another one. Eh, we're both wrong. Of the regulars, Yordan has 2 PH ABs and Tucker has 1, that's it. https://www.espn.com/mlb/team/stats/_/name/hou/split/87 Correa came into the middle of 1 game when Diaz got hurt
Yes, I vaguely recall that… was it a PH or did somebody get hurt that game? There have been countless times this year where Brantley, Yordan, Yuli, Altuve, and Carlos would be an ideal pinch-hitter in a key spot in the game, and they weren’t used… which makes me feel like they’ll avoid it at all costs unless pressed by emergency.
