Every time i read "modern day" twin towers it confirms that person has absolutely no clue what they’re talking about. Drafting Mobley will get Stone fired. I like Stone too. But there are just too many risk drafting a center, especially one who's body isnt fully déveloped. Playing 2 skinny bigs in 2021 will be atrocious
I'm most intrigued by his defensive potential. Be nice if we could grab a defensive anchor who won't weigh us down offensively. Our defense was so bad last year that winning was almost impossible. If they think Mobley can change that, I hope they get him.
Love the kids versatility but there are two guys with potentially as good perimeter defense and rim protection abilities in this draft. Garuba and Sims are every bit as great defensively as Mobley on tape.
I disagree with last point. Adding Mobley actually allows Wood to stay at the 5. At least until Mobley adds more muscle.
Agree there are top 3 and then a drop off but don't see Mobley as a wing at all. He moves like a big man only faster. Not made for the perimeter even if he can survive out there. IMHO.
Absolutely agreed If there is a killer Alpha in Green like Kobe & MJ I'm all in That's the only way a slashing 2guard wins rings as A or B If not, Mobley doesn't need to become a killer to win AD, KG types that willingly do the dirty work are more rare than volume scorers
Interesting take, my thought was "Mobley looks soft as hell in comparison to Thabeet, why are people wanting to draft this kid again?"
tanking is pathetic and extremely low chance game... basically you are buying a lottery ticket by losing games on purpose for years hoping some young scrub gonna become superstar one day(and they rarely do) and even if he does, it doesnt guarantee nothing, he may be hurt or leave you or have difficulty finding costars or is not being favored by the refs etc etc basketball is a skill game and you make it into a game of chance lololololol
Why are you just complaining about tanking in multiple threads? What's your end game here? The time to debate whether tanking was the way to go has long passed. The Rockets were a terrible basketball team last season, and they didn't need to tank to be one. Houston needs young talent, period. What's the alternative? Trading this pick for a subpar superstar and winning 35 games next year with John Wall scoring 20 points a night on 19 shots? Thanks, but I'll pass.
