Weaver thinks he's gaslighting Stone, not realizing that Stone is gaslighting Altman.

Yes, they should just draft Green then, stop asking for Rockets (fans) approval

The media has always shunned Houston Sports in particular the Rockets and Texans. We're big time but we're not one of the beloved teams the league glorifies like the Lakers or the Warriors. Certain players do play a role as well. Steph and Lebron are darlings, Harden never was a darling in the media's eyes, even in his MVP years many people still doubted his talents. What's crazy is while the clear consensus agree that Cade and Jalen are the top two players in this draft. Espn and Mock drafters are painting us to pick Mobley who's talent is lesser of the two. There's only one way for each of the top two teams to mess it up draft night. If Detroit passes on Cade with the first pick and he falls to us or we pass on Green once Cade is off the board. I could see a scenario where Cleveland or the Raptors are in the back room rubbing their hands together like birdman as we pick Mobley and somehow Jalen Green falls to them.

Cade and Mobley are 1A and 1B in this draft.

How about you control your own ignore list, and stop telling everyone else what to do with theirs?

Cade, Mobley and Green are 1A, 1B and 1C

Houston is not on either coast, it's not home to the major sports outlets. We are seen as wheeler-dealer dirty oil men (Skilling) full of hubris, well partly because we have fostered that image for 70 years or more.

But you can't have a protagonist without an antagonist, you don't have a story without contrast and drama. I'm fine being the bad guy. The Astros are actually more fun as the bad boys. Being reviled makes it more fun to win.

What about a trade down? Not saying this will happen, but there was a proposed trade for SGA and #6 for #1. Would you accept SGA and #6 for #2? I'd be tempted, not gonna lie.

I was trying to think about young star players to trade for

Ingram and SGA are the only 2 realistic options that stood out that seem interesting

    Pels have #10

OKC has a hoard of picks too

    Really doubt OKC does that

    #2 + 23 for SGA and #18 (or #16) seems a more likely ballpark

I'd do #2 for SGA straight up

Enough with this Houston victim complex, The Rockets and Texans are among the most visible franchises in their sports.

As someone that doesn't live in Texas, the Rockets in particular are grouped with the Lakers and Warriors by most fans in the western conference. They are very high profile and always have been. I haven't even needed league pass the last few years with how much coverage the rockets get in Colorado.

The Texans have been given more opportunities than any team I've ever seen in professional sports. They get lots of prime time games and tons of national coverage, especially considering they are among the most unaccomplished and poorly run organizations in all of sports.

Not gonna lie Shai is 22 and really REALLY good. I really like him, he can do it all, shoot, floaters, drive and draw fouls. A complete scorer in the game at 22. Ingram is another interesting one. I dont like him as much but he's 23 and has really improved his game. I would probably do it for Shai but not for Ingram.

The one caveat is...how good do you think KPJ will be. How much are you willing to be on him? How good do you think Green will be? Because I think Green wont need the ball as much as Ingram or Shai.

Yep… if Barnes is there that would be solid. OKC would also need to give us one pick swap back

Nah that's a good problem to have, that's what actually makes teams good when you have multiple players who can handle the ball, score and facilitate. If you expect Green to be a star-level player he will eventually average 5+ assists a game, every premier SG is doing it.

My only thing is that KPJ is young(and emotionally .....err well lets just say he's emotional), if we pair him with Green now(who does a lot of good things off the ball) it would be an excellent fit and they could grow together. You add Shai or Ingram and they immediately become "the guy" on the team with KPJ having less on ball responsibilities. Im definitely a more talent>better fit kind of guy and I would trade for Shai if he's available but I dont hate the idea of seeing Green and KPJ grow together.
