Both trades sent both organizations on down hill spirals. However it appears the Rockets are recovering, while the Texans, well....

CP3 was worse because we actually gave up future picks. That's huge in how we have to rebuild

... and yeah, I know Hopkins is one of the best receivers in the game worth way more than what we got

Are we talking about the original CP3 trade? Can make an argument we should have never traded for CP3 given the results.

But I feel like the Texans trade is worse than CP3 for WB. If we had not kept our top 4 pick then no.

Morey absolutely screwed up with that trade then he runs away and gets a President job in Philly. He wasn’t a good gm man. He used his analytics and it’s great to get regular season wins. But Morey is legit dantonis equivalent to a gm. Both of them are the same people at their job position

Way, way worse if we're talking about the Westbrook trade.

The Hopkins trade was defensible if they had just gotten more, and it sure as hell didn't change the trajectory of the franchise. You can literally point to the Westbrook trade as the day our relevance ended.

Fortunately we got lucky and one of Morey's protections bailed us out to a degree, but giving up multiple future first round picks to take on a worse player and end a title window....it doesn't get much worse than that.

Now we're stuck with an owner that has already shown his hand as to how he'll react when it's winning time (he'll play it cheap and stupid)

My only beefs with Morey are 40m for an aging Paul, and then trading Paul for a loser like Westbrook.

We've dodged the bullet this year, and it's still waaaaaay worse. Considering Chris wasn't healthy/in shape...and the Rockets rushed into a deal... Obviously, he had a lot left in the tank. Then there is the INSANE amount of swaps and picks thrown on top. Serious long term ramifications. Good Lord!

Trading D-Hop was answering a question no one was asking.

Hopkins trade was worse. Traded the Best WR in the league for literally nothing.

CP3 was comin off an embarrassing season where he fell off a cliff.

Westbrick was a bad fit but statistically had one of the best seasons of his career with us.

27ppg 47% is an anomaly in Russ’ career.

His playoff injury was the major problem.

Embarrassing? We won 60 games and were one game from the finals. The trio of Harden, CP3 and Capela were the most productive combination on the floor that season statistically and that included vs. Curry, Clay and Durant. He was 19 and 8 as the 2nd ball handler. I never understood the thinking of taking apart that team that was so close just because Harden wasn't getting along w/ CP3. If 60 wins is what you do when you're not getting along let's keep doing that.

Not necessarily that it was the cause of our downward spiral but it certainly marks the start of the downward trend. I like Westbrook and he's a great player but he has no business being on a team that is trying to shoot 40 3's every game. The trade of Capela is the actual nail in the coffin, to me. At that point we were trying to fit the square pegs into the round hole and that's when you could tell Morey was scrambling between his philosophy and Tillman's demands.

CP3/Westbrook trade is way worse. Even though the Rockets dodged the bullet this year, they still have several more to deal with from that fallout.

Hopkins trade is bad, but the Texans were going nowhere with or without him. Even the Tunsil trade is worse considering how costly they got him for a "win now" 4-12 season with 50+ sacks.
