That's not true. There are plenty of people who came to Jackson's defense. In fact, I have not heard anyone else support Pippen.
I disagree. I don't think there's any definitive evidence to say the man is "racist af". And Phil isn't a good coach he's an all time great. So for you I'll include Shaq. Shaquille, Kobe, Jordan, & Pippen are a combined 1 for life at winning titles without Phil. Shaq won one with Pat Riley, another all time great. Talent matters but so does coaching. Acknowledge that the man is an all time great at his craft.
And you don't know what Pippen could do in this era. When discussing hypotheticals, especially involving two versions of the game of basketball, no one knows anything on either side of a debate. But you can look at the facts and evidence that we have and try to draw some conclusion from them. How many times did Pippen take over a game offensively, particularly in the playoffs? How many times did he take over a playoff series offensively or otherwise? My memory is hardly ever. He simply wasn't a big time or crunch time go-to scorer or playmaker, and it was reflected in his points and assists. And with the Jordan-less Chicago team, Houston, and Portland, he had his chances. And those Houston and Portland teams were deep.
We're going in circles at this point with regards to how good of a coach Phil is. I maintain that your evidence is weak, at best. You can also say Jackson never won a title without at least one of the top 2-3 players and two of the top 20 players in the NBA on his team at the same time... And usually with two of the top five-ish players. As for his racism, yes there is tons of evidence, but how one defines "definitive" depends on the person (and how racist they are): https://thesportsrush.com/nba-news-...-of-racism-as-scottie-pippen-bluntly-puts-it/
This is exactly why Larsa is out bangin other dudes. Who in the world wants to associate themselves with this lunatic.
Your memory is wrong and he was the 2nd fiddle for his prime. You can most definitely see that a player had the skillset to play in a different era, does not take much to know what he could have done in this era, he did not really have a weakness. Yes those teams were deep so he was never asked to carry the load and was a much better playmaker than Kawhi.
Comparing Pippen and Leonard is weird. They are very different players. The only similarity is that both are excellent defensively. Pippen was never needed to carry a team except for that year and a half when Jordon was gone. He was a 20-point scorer during his prime, but he was never an efficient shooter like Leonard is. You would think that with MJ getting all the defensive attention, he would have a lot of open looks. The only thing Pippen is better than Leonard is playmaking. Kawhi has never been much of a playmaker.
How did this thread go from "Pippen labels Phil a racist" to "Pippen > Kawhi; agree or disagree?" Regardless, for those of you (ex: @steddinotayto) that wanted a black individual to chastise Pippen or defend Jackson:
Show me the exact post in this thread where I allegedly “want” an African American to “chastise Pippen or defend Jackson”.
