While small samples aren't indicative of whether Dusty is good for the players off the field, MLB players are people. While I don't think managers having a rowdy pre-game speech helps much, but things like Hinch calling Springer after a game during a rough postseason to reassure him he will still bat leadoff in the World Series is a part of being a leader. Personally, I think Dusty probably excels at motivating his players (at least the bats as I think he lets Strom handle the pitchers).

Maybe Dusty is great at dealing with the players off the field, they rarely talk about it so none of us really know But WTF is he playing Robel over Toro again today? Since Toro came back up he is hitting .297/.366, he drove in all 3 of our runs yesterday...Robel is barely hitting over .200, and has 22 K's to 3 BB....he is 5 for his last 28 and only one of those went for extra bases (2B) Might as well send Toro back to the Skeeters so he can play everyday and maybe be ready when we get a new manager Any chance Pettis can start making out the lineup
