It is starting to look like the Rockets made some good decisions at the deadline, whether it was luck or if they really knew something, Simmons was never great, but his value has absolutely tanked since deadline, and Herro's has as well. Miami is not the place for a guy who is starting to build an ego and enjoys the fame, I would even say it is worse than LA in that it is a bit seedy. However, a lot of the younger guys that LA drafted when they were tanking ended up doing very well once they left (Clarkson got 6th man of the year, Randle got MIP (granted in a city that seems it would have distractions as well), Lonzo fixed his shot and learned to shoot)

There was a broadcast report this past season that the Heat was concerned about Tyler Herro and whether he was spreading himself too thin with off-court endeavors, including the launching of his own cereal brand and his social life.

A team official emphasized that there is no concern with Herro in that regard, that he continued to put in the work even while enjoying the active social life typically afforded a young NBA star.

Herro is an expectant father and has often posted photos of himself with the baby’s mother on social media.

That official said there is nothing that seriously troubled the Heat about Herro’s private life or comportment, adding: Do you think Jimmy Butler would put up with Herro not working to improve his game?

“He’s a hard worker,” the person said, adding there are no attitude issues with him, either.

That said, he is logically the Heat’s best available trade asset, if you assume Butler and Bam Adebayo are off limits.

The risk with including Herro in any trade, of course, is that he makes a monumental third-year jump, which certainly cannot be ruled out.

If the Heat can get a high-level power rotation starter in a trade, Herro likely would be dangled. But for Kyle Lowry in a sign-and-trade? That would be a major shift in position from February, and (in our view), not advisable.

Every NBA team should be concerned about their players outside of the game

Reminds me of one Chandler Parsons

Young, white, reasonably hard worker, reasonably good player, loved attention, loved media features... became irrelevant quickly.

We will see if the last part holds true.

I honestly don't understand why these IG girlfriends expect loyalty from NBA players. YungSnuggie over on /r/nba detailed the options these guys have and it's a different world for guys in the league.

The stories about this guy going back to high school are insane. His level of game is supposedly insane.
