I know I'm probably going to get flamed for this and I know it doesn't have anything to do with the Rockets, but Biggio and Bagwell are both in second in All-Star voting this year for their positions. I think we should throw some Rockets off-season support to our summer boys and see if we can't sneak one of them into the All-Star game. The only place to vote is www.mlb.com because they've closed all the voting boxes. You get 25 votes per email address. Please don't flame me...but I feel that the Astros have always been supportive of the Rockets, especially during the Championship years, so we should help them out a little this summer. Thanks. ------------------ Doink!
If you knew you would get flamed, why post? Let me recap for you. Fire is very hot, frozen metal is very cold, and plastic bags over your head can be dangerous. ------------------ "Chucky who? I thought we were talking about basketball?" Charles Barkley

Ok, at risk of someone giving me a practicle demonstration instead of answering, I've got a couple of questions...I'm new here, and I have to ask...What's getting "flamed" or getting a "flame"? Please be kind...oh, and what is the significance of the number of posts you've got? Is it like status, or is there more to it? ------------------
Well as long as the thread is here, I have to admite that Berkman has really impressed me so far this year. I hope that Bagwell and Biggio play up to their full potential. Alou has been great too. A couple of years ago, I thought the guy was a waste because he seemed like he would always be hurt. I am very happy that I have been proven wrong. ------------------
"Astros SUCK!" lay off, yankee fan!!! keep your eyes on tim reddings people...hey u know the astros got rid of lima, maybe we can get rid of cato!!! ------------------ Howdy Partner!
Alou and Berkman are both having career/All Star years. Alou is so far behind in the voting it's rediculous. He's currently behind Bonds, Sosa, Walker, L Gonzalez, Griffey, Edmonds, Guerrero, Drew, AJones, and Gwynn. And above the likes of only Sheffield, Burnitz, Agbayani, and Finley? What the hell are these people watching. I hate this fan voting thing. Why can't the coaches and players vote and take the best players. Nothing pisses me off more than to see players make it based on career numbers instead of this year. However, since Ripken and Gwynn are both retiring, I think they deserve a position on the AS rosters, and to make an apperance for the fans to thank them for great baseball. But how the hell can anyone consider Griffey or McGwire to be having an AS year? Year in an year out, the dummy fan votes for thier favorite players, 50% of the time a more deserving player doesn't make the list. Oh....and don't even get me started on the ones who do get selected, but are above playing in the game! PS...Bagwell is having one of the worst seasons of his career to this point. Thank all that's holy that he can get the walks. ------------------ In the end there will be no judges...only witnesses to my greatness.

Hey, I give you absolution from your sin of posting in the wrong forum simply because it's been slipping my mind to vote for some well-deserving Astros who probably won't get the recognition they deserve. CLEARLY Bagwell, Biggio, Alou, and Berkman are having All-Star seasons. ------------------ Founding Father of the Refs Suck Club

Bagwell's having an all-star season? I didn't notice. I guess that .286 average puts him too far down the list to notice him much. I really hope he snaps out of this funk. He's not hitting for power or average. At least his eye are still good so he's getting the walks... oops! Kent+Alfonzo=NL Second basemen Kent is CLEARLY the best second basemen in the game today (Bell is a fluke). Alfonzo will get in because Valentine is the coach. I don't think they will go three deep this year because of the outfield. ------------------
