Sorry to bring hockey into this, but I see the same situation that Webber is in with Jagr. 1. Jagr doesn't like the team he is with now. 2. Jagr is a top 5 player in his sport, like Webber. 3. Teams are going to try desperately to get Jagr, just like they will to get Webber (Harrington, Best, and McKey? please!). 4. They both want to go to a team in NY. They also say Texas-based teams are a possiblity for them also.(I'd be so happy if NY got both of the players, almost as happy as the NY 94 teams brought to me.) 5. Jagr wants more Stanley Cups, and Webber just wants a ring. It will be interesting to see where each of them goes. ------------------
As a Penguins fan from birth I can tell you that you have no idea what you are talking about in #1. Jagr can't stay, they can't afford it. It isn't because he doesn't want to be there. ------------------ Houston Rockets...Unbeatable Akeem Olajuwon
what? NHL=NBA? Webber isnt Top5 anyways. Shaq Kobe Vince Iverson/FRANCIS Garnett/Duncan ------------------ "How close were you to her? Real close until the roofies wore off. Then she woke up talking about pressing charges, so I took my tongue out of her ass and left son." - Marlon Wayans "Scary Movie" Go Rockets!!! SS
He said he wants to regain his top player in the world status with a different team, w/o Lemieux on the team. Both parties also said it would be good for both of them to move on. I take from that: money AND the Lemieux return were what made this happen. ------------------
Top 5 NBA Shaq Duncan Webber Vince McGrady Francis or Iverson don't deserve to be on that list. Until Vince gets a double-double every game he won't be ahead of a PF that can produce huge numbers. ------------------
Ok this is my last response to this bc it has turned into a wrong forum type post which started with good intentions. Yes they say that because it makes it look amicable, but if Jagr could stay you better believe he would, he loves Pittsburgh, it's just sad sometimes that they had issues with him. ------------------ Houston Rockets...Unbeatable Akeem Olajuwon
