I agree to a certain extent. You never know how these draft picks will turn out. I would be comfortable with either one. Jalen Green is a special talent, but him being the player that he is, I due have concerns about him becoming injury prone.
Jalen Green seems like he’s got that Mamba-like mentality and super-hard worker. We need more of that on our team. I don’t know about Mobley - he looks soft.
Sure, both players are exactly the same. Except, Mobley is a better passer, ball handler, FT shooter, 3ball shooter and much faster in transition game. You'll never see Thabeet in a 5 out system let alone try to attack a closeout. Plus Mobley has a much higher basketball IQ and understanding of defensive rotations and switches. Mobley's 2nd and 3rd jump are also elite. Thabeet's NBA comp was Dikembe while Mobley's comp is Bosh. Same players amirite?
Mobley likes to pass from the post....but his thin frame won't be able to hold off defenders to even get the ball there. He's much closer to zhou qi and wood then embiid, ad or bosh. Mobley is just too slow and skinny.
I didn't say they were the same players, you said "kid is a freak" based on his defense. I shared a video where Thabeet (bust) was just as dominant looking on defense. There's nothing about Mobley that screams "star" there are a LOT of things that scream "bust" though. More people that size are busts than not. People keep throwing around AD as if Mobley has any remote shot of getting there (he doesn't) when video evidence shows him a lot closer to people like Thabeet in college in terms of his talent level. In fact, Thabeet looks way more dominant in his video than Mobley looks in his with ease.
Why draft Mobley when we already have a better version of him already on the team? Christian Wood. Twin towers won't work in the modern NBA.
