He's young. He can improve his ball handling enough to be a spot-up perimeter player that can also drive to the basket. Right now he plays like a center who can occasionally shoot 3s, but I'm hopeful he can add to his game.

KJM is a guard/forward who rebounds and blocks shots well. At this point in his career he is a Cedric Ceballos slasher type. Marion is who he could be in a few years.

If that means more poster blocks on 7 footers, sure

Maybe it's just me. I'd play Kevin Johnson at PG if we ever got him.

Today’s NBA is largely positionless on offense. If you happen to have someone that only plays C it is C and everybody else. If you have to classify him he is a forward. He will not do well guarding big PF’s so on defense he is a SF.

How about develop quality players first then worry about fit? What difference is kenyon jr being able to defend the 4 or not going to make? We miss the playoffs by 12 games instead of 9?

In today's NBA, the designation of 3 vs 4 is mostly (although not quite completely) irrelevant.
In today's Rockets, they are too bad to worry about things like that and instead need to focus on finding the best young players they can, with a lot of potential to develop, and who show that they can outplay what we are currently paying them in case a trade becomes available. KJ fits for all of those things.

This lineup lacks both length and size.

And Wood, Tate, KJ are all better paint defenders than perimeter defenders.

While Porter and Green are below average defenders.

This lineup is small but not necessarily switchable.

And will struggle rebounding similar to last season.

There is a reason Stone prefers to have a bigger lineup.

You ain't lying about harden being lazy on defense.

I'm happy with Tate, Martin as 2 of my 3 wings, the rookie who ever that is can slide in at the big wing or small wing spot.

I heard here that KJ is practically a shooting guard and Jaylen Green shooting is comparable. Now I am reading something about him regarding being a power forward. Sounds like someone made a wack a** comparison to me. but what do I know

You’re talking a wall with group. They don’t care about none of that. Just put the best players regardless of anything basketball related on the floor

Yea I agree. He's small, but plays very physical,is aggressive on the boards and similar to tate, they take advantage of peple who might see them as undersizedw ith their physicality and tenacity. Its never ideal in terms of wingspan and length, but I think both Tate and KMJ can play above their side. At least for next year, I'll enjoy the experiment if we want 5 shooters to have wood at 5 and then hopefully we can also get another center and experiment with wood at the 4
