He is definitely not a top 20 player. Im not even sure he would crack the top 30, but at least hes got a case there.
He is definitely Top 25 because of the D that he plays. You have to give credit to the defensive minded scorers as well. Well deserved at that as well, in the Playoffs.
While as longtime Mids fan I am over the moon that he finally receives recognition ..he isn't a top 20 player. He isn't consistent not in the POs neither in the RS. There can be 2-3 whole months in season where he is in shooting slump to the point that many want to get rid of him. You can't count on him and that is the difference between a great player and a star.
While I was tempted glad I was disciplined and stayed away from watching. Hope Trae is okay and back healthy for the next game.
Yes and nope, I think he has matured to the level that he has more consistent scoring games. We'll see. If Jrue was a Top 40 player, he does not even need to be. Giannis himself isn't a shooter or pure scorer himself, that is the problem, there is virtually a lack of volume scorers on that team.
i wouldnt say definitely but theres certainly a case. I think this guys are for sure better, no question: durant kyrie harden Giannis Curry thompson Zion Chris paul Booker trae young luka Lillard Mitchel Tatum Jokic paul george Kwahi Bradley beal Joel Embiid lebron anthony davis jimmy buttler So thats 22 guys that i feel theres no argument. If you have any objection to any of those guys, let me know, but to me they are head and shoulders over him. This is the tier where he belongs for me: westbrook Jaylen brown Lavine Karl anthony towns Domatas sabonis Ja morant murray jrue holiday daaron fox rudy gobert draymond julius randle shai Siakam Adebayo Simmons lowry Of these guys, i like Jaylen brown, Murray , Adebayo, westbrook and lowry better, and that would be more than 25, but i can see a case for him. The league is really stacked now, 20 years ago, his talent could have been top 20/25, but right now, theres a ton of really good players on every team.
Giannis can't even guide his team to the Finals regularly, his personal Top 5 is irrelevant because it is very easy to game plan against him due to his lack of shooting from long range. Rankings do not explain the abilities to come to help when your team needs you the most. While still being able to guard good players. That is why Kawhi never got close to an MVP and because of his injury. But he has gotten the Finals MVP- Being great but didn't show up enough in the regular season- questionable. You can prop up someone like Harden or Doncic all you want but their game is too much reliant on usage.
sorry mate, but are you high? We are talking about Middleton, and nothing on this post, makes sense. 1) Who can guide his team to the finals regularly , besides lebron or curry? 2) Kwahi got close to mvp a lot of times, he even finshed 2d at least 1 time. 3) Most of the good guys have usage, because they are good...
The big men stepping up for ATL, but Hawks rushed shots at the end yet no Huerter, Lou not being sweet and Trae trying to do it all himself. Middleton impresses again, he’s their MVP and man Tucker puts in work!!
I know this is super cliched to say, but ...if there's an example that you can be a better team/player from previous years with inferior numbers or even production. Explains 2020-21 Milwaukee Bucks. They don't seem as good as the 2018-19 and 2019-20 teams, yet. But, having a really good 3rd wheel player, like Jrue Holiday, who is at worst an above average player, though at best a solid all-star who is unselfish and still a decent defender. He also can create offense for himself and is good playmaker. Brogdon is a good player, but he's not on the same tier as Jrue Holiday. Jrue's game is not going to be effected a whole alot, no matter he plays. He's the guy that the Bucks have been missing against the other contenders. The Bucks have pretty good shot at the title, this year. All of the teams left are nowhere as good as 2019 Raptors or 2020 Lakers. They got past their biggest obstacle in the Nets. If they win this next game in Atlanta, they can go into the Finals on good role. If their series goes longer with Atlanta, I won't like their chances against the Suns.
Giannis committed about 10 fouls in that game. More if you count the offensive fouls that just don't get called much. That dunk call, and the foul that he committed on John Collins (Collins got called for an offensive foul) were just brutally obvious, but not called.
Middleton was awesome last night. But he is very inconsistent, kind of like our Eric Gordon. Some nights he can't miss and some nights he can't hit. Giannis gives them at least 25 points a game night in and night out (in Drexler's voice). Middleton is up and down. Holiday is also not very consistent at the offensive end. Good for them that both of those guys are good defenders. So their values are more than just scoring points.
