Not just no, but hell no! I am an Iowa Alum and a Hawkeye through and through, and that Iowa team was the most unathletic, slow footed, team I have ever witnessed, including many of the previous Hawkeye teams.

Unless NBA basketball is going to change its trajectory in the next few seasons away from athletic wings and guards (ie Anthony Edwards, Klay Thompson, Andre Wiggins, Luka Doncic) toward average athletic, but Uber skilled players like Nikola Jokic, there is no way I would draft that guy in the first round. Maybe if he fell to the second I would take a swing, but still I would be careful.

I feel like we, and many other teams, have gone down this road. Sam Dekkar, Frank Kominsky, Adam Morrison, Otto Porter Jr., Anthony Bennett, etc. None I go these guys panned out.

It would be one thing if the player was a 7 footer like Tim Duncan, Dirk, Jokic or Lopez, but a wing? Nope.

Joe Wieskamp is projected at 61 and he looks like he's outside the draft pool to me. Maybe sign him after the draft if he's interested, but I don't think he'll make it in the NBA. Too slow, too short. Great shooter though.

Too slow and too short for what?
He’s one of the fastest players in the combine and is 6’7+ in shoes with 6’11 wingspan.

Sometimes combine numbers don't translate to actual hooping. Most of those top combine guys are out of the league.

    Sometimes.
Also sometimes, testing translates. Not to mention his actual gameplay. Shooting will always be needed, it just so happens he adds good defense, length and athleticism. Also knows his role.

Really seems like some people in here need to stop looking at skin tone.

Seems like some people in here need to stop assuming racism when someone disagrees with them.

    Lamar Stevens SF-PF 10.35
    Devon Dotson PG 10.44
    Jalen Harris SG 10.59
    Mason Jones SG 10.60
    Josh Green SG-SF 10.65

In 2020, literally Mason Jones, one of the slowest guys I have seen on an NBA basketball court, had the 4th best lane agility time.

The testing is not as useful as you want it to be.

Mason Jones is black, btw. :)

Really seems like you need to read the room and not assume that quote was intended towards you. Unless…..

Sorry, but your “eye test” doesn’t prove testing wrong.

Really seems like you need to read my post and not assume that I thought it was directed at me, but rather "the room".
