The mickey mouse doubleheader format really tried to bite us in the ass. Great that we could at least salvage the split.
Bags sounds like he's having fun. You don't have to be impaired to have fun, though some will not believe it.
There has to be some sort of "deep thought" when you realize every winning streak has to start after a loss. (First game ever excluded.)
I think that was the same thing they were saying about Springer for a few years. This year's hero always seems irreplaceable.
6 years, $25 Million per year with easily reached incentive bonuses of $5M for 400 PA and 600 PA. Share the injury risk for high reward potential. Pretend like Correa had this contract the last six seasons: 2015 432 PA - $30M 2016 660 PA - $35M 2017 481 PA - $30M 2918 468 PA - $30M 2019 321 PA - $25M *2020 221 PA - $35M (minus MLBPA approved reduction for the shortened season.) *2021 310 PA - $35 (based on current pace) Total $180M ($150M floor; $210M potential) I would even consider a longer contract under these terms. Maybe years 7-12 with a mutual $5M/y buyout. I don't know what the new MLBPA will permit for incentives though. They have some archaic rules about limits on incentives under the expiring Agreement.
The As record is misleading. They are good at beating up lesser teams but their Achilles heel is their record is around .500 against teams with a record over .500. And, they haven’t played as many games against winning teams as the Astros have. Correct me if I’m wrong as this is my recollection from my last look at the standings. I expect they have a tougher schedule remaining than the Astros do.
