I actually would go after Simmons now, his value won’t be any lower then it is now. He needs a new change of scenery and Philly is a brutal place to play for. If we draft Jalen Green and along with Christian Wood and KPJ he won’t be asked to do much here but provide assists and defend. Maybe our Rockets staff can work with him on his shooting and regaining his confidence.
I am open to getting Hero but what do you guys think of trading 23 and 24 and a player for SGA? I think Lowe said SGA is not on the same timeline with OKC rebuild. Probably not possible but SGA is a nice two way player that averaged 24 a game. KPJ SGA Tate/KJ Wood Mobley
The chatter being Herro having personal issue might not be the best to pair with KPJ, plus it seems Wood would need to be included...which is fine if the goal next year is one more tank season.
It will be one more tank season whether you want or not unless they somehow get a first or second tier superstar. No matter who we draft, it will be extremely unlikely that he will carry to the team to a respectable level as a rookie. And I don't think Wood and KPJ will be either.
Agreed. We need back to back top 5 picks to even begin laying the groundwork to have a future contender.
This is actually not a bad plan, if anyone can help Simmons with his shooting, its Lucas. But what would PHI want from the Rockets is better question. That franchise is in win now mode.
I think the stock of both players lowered throughout this year. Herro plays poor defense and is one dimensional, Simmons is in his own head and has confidence problems. I'd still take either for the right price - you should always try out a young player in a new fit IF the price is right.
Bones Hyland will be there at 23 and is better than Herro IMO. Smaller but better defender and is also big time scorer. And without the on-off court issues.
A friend and I were talking about Herro. He asked if I would do Tate and No. 24 for Herro. I thought about it, and I wouldn't even do Tate for Herro straight up, personally. Herro is five years younger, but Tate had the better season and seems like the surer thing to last long-term as an above average starter in this league. I'd be more inclined to offer House, 23 and a future second.
Tate for Herro? Good Lord this guy comes up with the shittiest proposals. Tate for Herro! Wood and all the picks for Love & #3. Fan****ingtastic. …
