One of the funniest memories I have of Elston is when he was interviewing J.R. Richard (early 70's?), and he asked him what pitch he would throw in a tight situation, and Richard replied, "well Gene, I'd throw a slider" and as he moved his hand across his groin area he said, "I'd put it right in there, c@ck high".
One of my funniest memories of Brown/Deshaies: Brown: "Starting in the outfield for the Expos, recently called up rookie Milton Bradley" Deshaies: "I guess you can say his parents were gamers" Hahahaha
TK/Blum, but regency bias may play a big part in my answer. I remember really being disappointed when Deshaies left, but it's been a while at this point.
Kalas has the best voice in baseball, no the Stros, but all of baseball. He has a trademark tone, if he speaks, you know who it is. I like to play his tone on my Vox AC30.
I've grown to love Todd Kalas, like he could legit call a world cup game for univision if he spoke Spanish. Blum provides the right amount of everything else. prime Milo ft Sparky for the radio broadcast. That would be wild.
Yup. I remember thinking I would never get over it. I was so mad, especially because Deshaies voiced at the time that he wanted to return IIRC.
